Peaceful hilltop setting, rooftop bar, and incredible bioluminescent tour. I cannot recommend Cat Ba XanhHotel enough! If you are traveling to Cat Ba and want clean, modern accommodation away from the chaotic harbor front, this is the best choice. The rooms are larger than typical town hotels, and having two double beds gave us plenty of room to relax. The beds were comfortable and housekeeping kept everything spotless every day.

Our stay at Cat Ba Xanh Spring Garden Hotel was the highlight of our trip. The location is perched slightly up a hill, meaning you are insulated from the blaring horns of town, yet you can easily walk down to the local market in five minutes and the central square in about ten minutes. The rooftop garden and bar were a massive bonus—sitting up there in the evening with a cold drink, gazing across the town and limestone hills, was pure magic. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and featured two big, comfortable beds with crisp linens. We had a partial sea view from the window, and the air conditioning cooled the room in seconds. The bathroom had great water pressure and reliable hot water.
What really makes this hotel shine is the staff. Linda and Emma at the front desk are absolute angels! They speak excellent English and helped us with everything: organizing our laundry in just five hours, arranging scooter rentals at honest rates, and booking an unforgettable Lan Ha Bay cruise that avoided crowded party boats. The breakfast buffet each morning was fresh and satisfying, with eggs, pancakes, and fruit. We felt so warmly welcomed!

The security guards were very helpful and called the reception for us.
The room was clean.
The hotel knew nothing about our booking. The hotel seems to be in an amusement park, but the amusement park was closed at that time. We informed them in advance about our arrival, but nowbody was at reception when we arrived.
There was no breakfast included and the room is very small for the price. On our arrival they showed us the pricelust and we chose the one at the price in bookings, also showed them our booking. but they did not know anything about bookings.com, neither could they read english... they gave us a room in a container which was clean but the duvet had no cover for some reason.
