Place is delightful with a wonderful garden and patio. Nice and easy to follow instructions from hosts. Peppers is a great grocery store near by. Absolutely lovely stay.

This was a great little place, super clean and friendly and easy access with our car to everything Victoria had to offer.

A good option if you're not using the sofa bed and staying just for one or 2 nights. Well maintained and a place with lots of character. The garden is beautiful.

We loved our stay at Hillhouse! Check-in and check-out were easy peasy and Barry and Jane were easy to communicate with before and during our stay. The suite was comfortable and provided all of the amenities our family needed during our stay. Great location with easy access to the city and great attractions nearby!

We enjoyed our brief stay at their condo. It was convenient for exploring the greater Victoria area, and there are some lovely walking trails in the immediate vicinity of the house. Would definitely return. Thank you.

The location right next to UVic was perfect for us. It is an easy walk down the hill to Cadboro Bay, the beach, grocery store, cafe, and a nice restaurant (Thai Lemongrass). Be aware that this is a basement suite. It was clean and quiet, nicely finished with a well equipped kitchen and a very comfortable bed. Good value for a reasonable price. We would stay here again. If anything, the apartment was nicer than the listing led me to believe. Clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. Instructions were clear, communication with the host good, and the back deck is beautiful. A 12-minute walk to the UVic central campus, and ten minutes to shopping and dining. City bus stop nearby. Would stay here again.

Great deck for breakfast and evenings. Very clean- loved that we could walk to the University, grocery store and ocean!

The location was great it was near the university and near the beach. The place is very tastefully decorated, welcoming and comfortable. The outside sitting area is a lovely added touch. It is very quiet and private and I would highly recommend it. The hosts are easy to communicate with and respond in a timely manner.

This was a fantastic location for us. We were able to walk to UVic and down to the village for supplies. The suite was very well-appointed and clean. Barry communicated quickly and was very helpful. We would highly recommend this location!

It really was a joy to stay in Jane and Barry’s guest suite at Hillhouse. The night we arrived turned out have the biggest snowfall on record for Victoria, which made our few days there seem a bit magical. The suite is lovely and very comfortable; and Barry and Jane are wonderful hosts, generous and caring. We have no hesitation at all recommending it.

This was a well appointed suite in a super location. The space itself is a basement which has its limitations like any basement suite. The deck could definitely use a makeover. But it is as clear the hosts cared about making their guests comfortable - good bed, lovely bed linens, big fat white towels a nicely stocked kitchen, and great bathroom. Lots of leash optional walking trails nearby for the dog. And a fair price.

This spot is just such a perfect stay for one person or more. The kitchen has all you need, the bathroom was spacious and clean, the bed was comfy and the full sized living room to relax and unwind was divine. Also the AC was soo appreciated during my summer stay. Barry and Jane were very accommodating with allowing a delayed checkout. Would highly recommend

Nice sitting area in the garden.Easy to locate property. Lots of walking trails close by. Beach area and great local playground for our grand-kids nearby. Plenty of bus options even though we didn't need them. Good binder with local information in the suite.

This property was all we could have asked for. Needed to be close to Cadboro Bay for a weekend wedding event. We were delighted with the set up of this basement suite surrounded by peace and quiet and pretty pretty english country garden. The kitchen super stocked and living room super comfy. The bathroom was quaint, clean and large and the queen bed was so yummy. We could walk down the hill to the local market, pub, coffee house and drugstore....as well as the BEACH ! We'll be back, I'm sure of that !

We enjoyed staying at this property. Like other guests we caution anyone with mobility issues that the little path around the house to the entrance of the suite is very uneven. Otherwise a delightful stay.

I stayed here for three night while visiting my son who is at UVic. Location couldn’t have been better and the rental suite was very spacious and cozy. I definitely would stay here again!
