the staff were lovely and helpful and the rooms were impeccable. there was a pool on the roof which was wonderful. the food was fine but there was a restaurant next door that was fabulous. check out nha hang hung sen for a great seafood hotpot.
if you want the same beauty as Ha Long Bay without the tourist trap then this is the perfect choice.
its is a bit of a walk to get to the beach and you definitely need a taxi to come back up the hill.

Lyn’s Villa is a pretty and unique little boutique stay with a warm, family-run atmosphere. It was comfortable, welcoming and good value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the kitchen team were especially brilliant at accommodating my food allergies.
The pool is small but lovely for cooling off after a hot day, and it would be great for children to splash and play in. The villa is tucked down an alley away from the main road, which makes it quieter and gives it a more rural feel, while still being conveniently close to the main town. The natural limestone surroundings are a lovely bonus.
It would suit solo travellers, couples and families looking for a relaxed, personal stay. I would happily stay again if I returned to Cat Ba.
My room was directly below the pool area, so there was some noise during the evening, although it did not continue very late. In the morning, the area was peaceful and I enjoyed waking up to the sounds of nature from the nearby limestone hillside

Staff was very friendly and helpful
Location was reasonable but. Not fantastic. In the evening we sometimes had difficulty in getting a taxi when going out for dinner.
The rooms are rather small and in the bathroom you almost need to climb over the toilet for the shower.
Building is very noisy. At night a lot of barking dogs who kept us awake (several nights).
