We stayed 7 nights at Little Gem Hotel in Tulum (Early April), located in the La Veleta neighbourhood. This was our very first vacation in Mexico, so we don’t have much to compare it to—but our experience was fantastic.
We chose this hotel based on its price, location, and the most recent reviews, and it definitely lived up to expectations. The staff were incredibly helpful, the rooms and pool were consistently clean, and the location was perfect—especially if you enjoy great food, whether authentic or fusion.
Nestor and Mayumy went above and beyond to help us discover the area. They recommended excellent restaurants and guided us to beautiful beaches, cenotes, and lagoons.
The hotel also offers free bike rentals, and affordable scooter rentals can be easily arranged through the front desk, which made getting around very convenient.
We would absolutely love to come back in the near future.

Little Gem exceeded my expectations. The staff were so helpful. They arranged our airport transfers, booked tours for us, had mopeds or atvs to rent at reasonable prices, and bikes free to use. Rooms were clean, coffee maker in room, even beach towels. Close to many restaurants and the best coffee and cafe right across the street. Don’t hesitate to book your stay here!

The room itself is worth the money.
However, the location is super terrible. You can find an electric wire hanging halfway in front of the door. The location is far away from the main street so it's very expensive to take a cab. The taxi driver cursed every time for the terrible road condition and obviously we were not happy listening to complaints as well.
If you want to save money, consider the potential cost taking cab too. It's gonna be $20 - $50 for each one way trip wherever you go.
