2 Bedrooms Duplex Apartment, enterely renovated in a classified historical building, with very high standing, located in the heart of the historical city of Oporto, with unforgettable views on the Dom Luis Bridge, Douro River from one side, and Palacio da Bolsa, Sao Francisco Church and Infante Dom Henrique Square from the other side.
This apartment is located on the last and 5th floor of a building with an elevator. This building is known as Baron Forrester has spent some time leaving there.
Joseph James Forrester devoted a part of his life in a laborious survey of the River Douro, with a view of improvement of its navigation and a separte map of the port Wine districts, reprinted in England in 1852 by order of a select committee of the House of Commons. He was created Baron de Forrester for life in 1855 by the crown of Portugal, made knight commander of the orders of Christ and Isabella la Catolica, and received the cross of chevalier of various orders of his adopted country.
This Duplex is a real unique diamond in the historical center, with 2 Suites with 2 balconies, one in front of the Infante Dom Henrique Square and the other in front of the Dom Luis Bridge.

Awesome location! Perfect location for wandering around Porto & the Douro River front. Apartment was clean & bed upstairs was comfortable. Downstairs bed was ok but a bit hard/firm. Apartment is on the 5th floor with views from the balconies. (There's one level of stairs before you reach the elevator to the apartment. There's also stairs to the bedroom upstairs with the King size bed.) The balcony off that upstairs bedroom has great views of the Douro River. We enjoyed our stay & would definitely stay there again.

Marc is an excellent host. He answered all of our questions in a timely manner. The place is ideal located within walking distance to the river and restaurants and shops. The view from the living room overlooking the town square is amazing. The river view from the bedroom balcony was breathtaking. If you are looking for a place that is close to the Porto wine makers you need to stay here. When I come back to Porto I will definitely look at staying here. Thanks Marc for a great experience in Porto.

The location of this unit was wonderful. The check in process was disappointing as we had to wait in the rain, although I had followed the instructions and reached out to the contact 45 minutes before our arrival. The contact was delayed and apologetic. I contacted the host before booking for confirmation that there was a futon in the living room. There is not. Rather it’s a leather chaise couch. Our 6’2” son had to sleep on it for three nights. It was uncomfortable, short and slippery. The second bedroom had a single mattress that was rock hard. As in, it may as well have been a box spring. The loft bedroom had a comfortable bed. Our bar was high as we had just come from a similarly priced and well-located apartment I. Lisbon that had wonderful. as-advertised sleeping conditions. Clearly, sleeping comfort is a priority for us when we travel and something I pay close attention to, if you can sleep anywhere this unit is ideal for a visit to Porto.
