About this cottage rental
"Drift Away" to the perfect beach getaway! Enjoy Alabama's beaches the way they used to be. The Rookery unit 2502 is located on the beautiful Fort Morgan Peninsula, away from all the high-rise condos in Gulf Shores. You can enjoy uncrowded beaches, nature trails, wildlife, and plenty of relaxation. Just a short 10 minute walk to the beach!
This charming coastal cottage has hardwood floors throughout, comfortable seating, 3 large smart TVs, free wireless internet, a cozy screened-in porch, a fully equipped kitchen and much more! The primary bedroom has a king size bed and private bathroom. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed and full bathroom. The bunk bedroom has two sets of bunk beds, a twin over full and a twin over twin. Bed linens, bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths and kitchen towels are provided. A few extras are added to make our guests feel at home (starter supplies of garbage bags, hand soap, dish soap, laundry pods/softener sheets, toilet paper and paper towels). The unit includes a full sized washer and dryer closet.
There are two swimming pools, a hot tub, and tennis/pickleball court on the property. The cottage is located beside the courts and the large, zero entry swimming pool. The Rookery is a golf cart friendly community so bring one (or rent one upon your arrival) and enjoy easy access to the beach! The cottage also includes an outdoor grill and comfortable Adirondack chairs. Also, located throughout the community, are shared grills and picnic tables. There is also space to park your boat!
This is not your typical beach vacation! There are many activities nearby for everyone to enjoy. There are several golf courses nearby as well as golf cart, bicycle, and kayak rentals. Historic Fort Morgan is located just a few miles away, offering daily tours or from there, take the ferry over to Dauphin Island Estuary. Several restaurants, including Tacky Jacks and the award winning Jesse's on the Bay, are just a short drive away. There is a marina located just 4 1/2 miles down the road for the deep sea fishing enthusiasts and a 2 minute walk to Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge for the nature lovers!
The cottage is a non-smoking unit. Pets are not allowed.

This place was absolutely fabulous! It had a complete remodel on the inside and it was very clean. It was centrally located so it was just a few few steps to the tennis courts and the swimming pool. That’s a plus for us. It was very quiet and a nice area and we will most definitely stay there again.

We had a wonderful time! Rental was clean, spacious, host was responsive. Kitchen fully stocked with what we needed to make meals! Location in the Rookery is ideal we loved being able to walk to hot tub every evening to relax!

5 STARS FOR THE CONDO. The condo was clean, spacious and had comfortable sleeping and lounge space. The patio sofa made sitting on the front porch nice and relaxing in the morning. The two sofas in the living room were great for lounging and watching movies after a long day at the beach. Once the rest of our group came, seating was tight. A loveseat/sofa in place of the two chairs would've been perfect. The bunk room for the kids was perfect and a deciding factor for choosing this particular property. The tennis courts and pool are right behind the property and a short walk which is another big plus. We really can't emphasize enough how nice the condo is.1 STAR FOR THE PARKING. The Rookery I & II DO NOT have designated parking. The Rookery III does. This would eliminate the parking issues. Guest from other condos parked right in front of our condo, blocking the walkway. They parked at angle, taking up two spots instead of one, forcing us to park in the guest area or do the same and park in another condo's area. We had to trek across the parking lot to load and unload luggage, ice chest and groceries. 2 STARS FOR THE BEACH. Parking at the beach is almost nonexistent. GOLF CARTS ARE A MUST or just walk from the Rookery. Good luck parking if you have a full size truck. We were all very disappointed with the beach. It was very crowded and hard to find a spot not on top of other people. The trash from PEOPLE was disgusting. I even saw a used tampon applicator!
