The earliest homes date back to the mid 1880’s. If you plan to drive through, remember that this is a quiet, residential community. There are strict rules in place, such as daily Quiet Hours (usually 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM), and strict speed limits to protect pedestrians.

✧ PARKING AND TRASPORTATION ✧
There is a private gravel driveway at the home for guest parking only. The Retreat at Water's Edge is a walkable community. However, you will need your own transportation for hiking, exploring, The Caverns and restaurants.

✧ PET POLICY ✧
We love our pets. Unfortunately, we do not allow pets in our home. In the event that a guest violates the “No Pets” rule, guest is subject to an additional $500 cleaning fee.

✧ NO SMOKING ✧
This is a non-smoking house, so we kindly ask all our guests to refrain from smoking in or near the home.

✧ Other things to note ✧
Our home is surrounded by beautiful wooded areas, which are home to local wildlife and insects. You may see deer, bears, squirrels, rodents, spiders, ants, or other native critters during your stay. We partner with a professional pest control company for regular scheduled treatments to help minimize pests; however, because of the natural setting, we cannot guarantee that wildlife or insects will not be present in or around the property.

By booking this property, guests acknowledge and accept the possibility of encountering wildlife or insects as part of the mountain experience. The presence of these natural elements does not constitute a basis for a refund.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the lake by kayaking, paddleboarding, or fishing. For everyone's safety and in accordance with community rules, swimming in the lake is not permitted.

NO open ground fires or external fires are permitted outside of the designated, approved fire pit. No burning trash, construction scraps, styrofoam, leaves or chemical accelerants. Guests agrees to watch fire at all times until fire is fully put out with water hose. Guests should check for active local burn bans in the area.

Fireworks are not permitted at any time at Cottage Cove Lakeside Retreat.

For the safety and security of our guests and property, our home is equipped with exterior security cameras. These cameras are used only to monitor outdoor areas for safety concerns or to verify compliance with house rules, such as occupancy limits. There are no cameras inside the home or in any private outdoor spaces.
