The receptionist that checked us in was extremely polite, helpful, and friendly.
Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower was spacious and nice.
It was wonderfully quiet in the room.
There was an additional charge ($12) for parking at the hotel that was not disclosed prior to reserving the room.
The area outside the hotel was not so delightful (homeless people on the streets, traffic noise, people drinking beer in the hotel parking lot).
The breakfast buffet was not available in the morning (patrons were required to order off the menu if they wanted breakfast).
Receptionist at checkout wasn't very attentive to my requests although I was the only guest at the counter.

The staff were professional and attentive when called upon.
The hotel is old and needs updating. The bathroom was below standard. Random stains on bathroom walls are absolutely disgusting. $20 a night plus tax for parking in a large open parking lot is completely ridiculous. I understand why it happens in California or Las Vegas, but not in Texas.
