The cottage was perfect! Great location, and was so comfortable. It was the perfect place for a family weekend getaway and to celebrate a birthday.

We had a lovely stay. The cottage is delightful. Just a couple of issues with the high chair being dirty and last folks didn’t leave any detergent for the washer. Beds are comfortable. It is not baby proof but we set a chair on its side and kept the little one from the stairs. And moved all the pretty breakables before he was allowed on the floor. Lots of games and the pantry was well stocked as well as the kitchen for cooking in general. The turtles were a big hit for all of us. We fed them left over lettuce and French fries. Very entertaining to watch. We had a great time at a great price. Would definitely return. The owners are very kind and patient and easy to contact. Thank you

Great home on a lake with turtles and many birds. Beds were made and cozy homey towels provided. Very well stocked for a great vacation!

The set up was perfect as on the 1st level was the master bed/bath. My dad is 74 and it was perfect. The middle floor bedrooms worked perfect for me and my sister. The uppper living room with the balcony was great to sit at and look over the pond. House had everything needed for a stay away from home.

Absolutely amazing

The hosts were very communicative and the house was great for Labor Day Weekend. Lots of wildlife to see over breakfast on the back deck, and great access to beaches and attractions around Nags Head / Kitty Hawk.

Our family had never been the OBX before. We were glad we choose this property. From the time u walk through the door it had a nice feel. This beach cottage is clean and comfortable. The master suite is large and tastefully done. Our 3 yrs grandson was very excited about his room on the next level, which I'm happy to stay didn't take many steps to get to! The next level he ran to the sea shells, put them to his ears smiled then he and shared with the family the sounds of the sea! He loved the large deck where he was ecstatic to see the turtles in the pond! The family room has large comfortable seating. Although the kichen was a bit small the appliances are large and this kitchen was very well equipped! The host is the absolute best! Overall this experience was serendipitous!

This is a wonderful property with access to a pool and the beach. Having parking at the pool/beach was so convenient and left options for us as we needed flexibility with our almost 2 year old. Jeanne was so responsive and helpful! Great location in the Outerbanks not far from the aquarium, Manteo, jockeys ridge etc. Highly recommend!

Clean nice place!

The house is cute and in a great location. It is about .80 mile from the pool & beach access. The pond in the back was great. We all enjoyed the turtles. We didn’t get in the house until close to 5pm, which was disappointing after traveling all day. The cleaning lady was very nice and friendly. She said the house was left very dirty and she was running behind. The owner told me it was because of an electrical problem. Not sure which was true, maybe both were. We fed the turtles while we waited. This is the forth house I have rented through VRBO and unfortunately it was by far the most unclean, which was disappointing. The house is listed as no pets allowed. There was a pet in the house before we arrived. When I walked in to talk to the cleaner, there were balls of pet hair on the floor. After the cleaner left, we also saw pet hair all over the seats of the kitchen chairs. There were stains on the couch cushions. The floors may have been cleaned, unfortunately not well enough. There was still plenty on the floors. The hall bathroom shower was not cleaned well and had hair in it. The silverware was not clean. I had to run it all through the dish washer to ensure it was clean. The silverware tray was disgusting, I also put it in the dish washer. The coffee pot was gross. There were grounds everywhere. We had to buy a coffee maker to use. I could not let my family drink from that thing. We had a great week. I wish I didn’t have to worry about cleaning on my vacation. Not fun!

This property was awesome. Well appointed; could relax and enjoy our stay. Near restaurants, sightseeing and the beach. Would stay here again!

My mother loved the stay. And absolutely adored the house. The stay was great, within walking distance from shopping center and ocean.

We stayed at Carolina Cottage for the second year in a row for a winter getaway. As expected Jeanne is the best host I have ever interacted with on this platform. The property itself is perfectly located to head north or south for different activities. The property has had some updates since last year and they are very nicely done. You can tell Jeanne truly cares for this property. As the previous review said there were dishwasher issues however Jeanne had those fixed before we arrived and was very communicative about it. Thanks again for letting us stay in your home!

Our family comes to the Outer banks every year and we absolutely loved this house. It has everything you may need and the location is perfect. We had a blast at the beach and loved the easy access to the pool right after to end our day. Above all we LOVED the turtles!!

Great place to stay! Loved the turtle pond out back and listening to their "talk". Was close to beach and community pool. Near excellent restaurants and many activities. The house itself was quiet, neighbors polite and quiet, good neighborhood to walk in. I talked to Jeanne the owner and she was always helpful with her answers. We had no reason to call her the week we were there because the house was perfect!!
