About this apartment rental
Enjoy your stay in the historical part of Montpellier with this freshly renovated and fully equipped flat.
The flat has a fantastic view on one of the most prestigious historical squares of Montpellier, with the Saint-Pierre Cathedral and Ecole de Médecine. From there you will be anywhere in the Ecusson, the historical center of the city, in less than 5 minutes.
This 80 square meter duplex has two bedrooms with aircons:
- 1bedroom with king-size bed and cathedral view,
- 1bedroom with queen-size bed, which is located on the upper floor, right under the roof and has the charm of exposed wooden beams (with air con); this room has a wooden desk and office chair.
Also :
a living room, a dining room (can also be used as a separate office), a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom with a separate toilet.

The Ecusson, the historical center of Montpellier, has indescribable charm with architecture and historical landmarks everywhere, but also cool bars, squares and restaurants.
In the close neighborhood of the appartement, the Saint-Pierre cathedral (with its twin convivial pillars and its 12 chapels) and the school of Médecine together make a unique architectural unit. A bit further is the famous (and hype) Canourgue square or the promenade du Pérou with its 300-years old arch of Triumph.
300m away, the "jardin des Plantes", commissioned by king Henry the IVth in 1593, is one of the oldest public gardens in France.

Our flat is on the 3rd and 4th floors of an old building. The stairs inside the building can be quite steep so this rental is NOT RECOMMENDED FOR PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY ISSUES (very young children or elderly people).

Due to local regulations (5 historical monuments in a 200m radius), the compressors of our aircons are inside the apartment. Therefore the aircons ought to be used during the day so at to keep the flat fresh, and turned off during bedtime.

The appartment is in a first class location in the mainly pedestrianised old town of Montpellier, perfect for exploring the city on foot.It is located on the top floor of the building accessible only by steps. Being on the top floor made the appartment very quiet at night, making for a good night’s sleep. The apartment was comfortable, clean and spacious and the communication with the owner was excellent.There is a superb small restaurant (Ikal) literally round the corner and a really nice boulangerie within a couple of minutes walk close by Place de La Canouruge. We loved both our time in the appartment and Montpellier and would love to return again one day.

This apartment is ideally situated in the historical quarter, very close to a tram stop, le Jardin des Plantes and a variety of bars/restaurants. Our host was very easy to contact and very responsive to queries. The apartment was extremely clean. It was very well equipped. I think the kitchen in “real life” is far better than the photographs show. The apartment was quiet and there was no noise disturbance from neighbours. I would suggest that given the stone staircase up to the third floor apartment and then to the top floor bedroom once inside the flat this is not accommodation for anyone with impaired mobility/ vision. There is no hand rail on any of the stairs. My husband and I would be more than happy to stay in this apartment if we came back to Montpellier and it really does have spectacular views from the bedroom / lounge windows.

We loved the location, which featured excellent restaurants and tram stops within walking distance, plus a stunning view of the Cathedral. We would certainly stay here again."
