Great Apartment Amsterdam

Everything was great! Nice roomy one bedroom apartment with extra large windows for great lighting. Place was very clean and centrally located. Would definitely stay there again!

No available stove or oven Located up two flights of very narrow stairs Not a problem for us but may be a factor for others.

Tolle Lage, mitten im Leben und trotzdem zum Schlafen ruhig. Schöner Blick auf Gracht und Innenhof. Die Wohnung hat alles, was man für einen Trip nach Amsterdam braucht. Für Amsterdamer Verhältnisse sehr geräumig, und wir haben uns jederzeit sicher gefühlt. Schnelle & gute Kommunikation mit der Gastgeberin.

It was very well stocked, it felt like a home. Was in a great residential location. We felt like we were living amongst the locals. Great restaurants nearby. Trini, the host, was very responsive and helpful.

The location was superb! We had stayed in this area the previous year and loved the great mix of cafés, restaurants, and pubs. It’s also very easy to get around, either on foot or using the many nearby tram stops. The apartment itself was lovely, with an amazing little patio overlooking a beautiful canal. The layout was great, and the amount of natural light made the space feel bright and welcoming. Trini was exceptional with communication before, during, and even after our stay. She went out of her way to ship back an item I accidentally left behind, which I really appreciated.

We didn’t realize that Amsterdam has recently been bringing in more regulations to crack down on short-term rentals and one of the newer rules means there’s no cooktop in the unit, so that caught us a little off guard. The mattress has also been mentioned in other reviews. For us, it was far too soft, and whenever one person moved, the other felt like they were on a bed of Jell-O. One of us ended up sleeping on the couch instead. We also happened to be there during one of this summer’s heat waves. It hadn’t occurred to me when I booked in January that air conditioning would be something to consider for an August stay, but the apartment gets very hot even with a fan. The windows don’t have screens, so leaving them open at night meant dealing with insect bites as well as cigarette smoke drifting up from the courtyard in the morning. And other reviews have mentioned noise from the restaurant at the canal (I also come from a big city and my sleep earbuds drown out everything). Definitely something to keep in mind when booking, particularly during the warmer months.
