Pousada Caniçada - Gerês

Gorgeous mid century design and very well-kept, interior and exterior with incredible views. Very helpful and professional staff, good food and bev at a reasonable price.

I can’t say I didn’t like anything, because it was so beautiful and well appointed, but only a couple of details might have made it more comfortable. The bed was a little hard, and it was unusually warm while we were there, so we were grateful to have the A/C in the room, we kept wanting to spend time in the beautiful lobby and terrace. If they had fans, or used the patio umbrellas strategically, it would have made the common and outdoor spaces nicer to inhabit.

Stunning location. Views of the lake are particularly beautiful. Staff are friendly and helpful

Food was disappointing. Portions were enormous but menu choice is limited especially if you are staying more than 2 nights and quality was average although no worse than we experienced elsewhere locally.

The hotel location is great and the view from the terrace is lovely. The staff were exceptional and were always helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious and a good selection of wines.

Too many stairs to get to our room and no elevator. Quite difficult with large bags.
