The Rowan Hotel

We had tickets to see Peter Kay and decided to make a weekend of it. We were so glad we did because we have discovered this brilliant guest house and will most certainly be going back. Everything about it was perfect. The place was spotless, the breakfast couldn't be better, the room was quiet with a lovely comfortable bed and everything else you could want or need including tea and coffee making facilities. The location is amazing and you can even see the sea from the pretty seating area at the front, a great little sun trap on a nice day to watch the world go by or maybe sip a glass of something from the bar. The Rowan is a gem of a place and, last but not least, it's run by two great people who make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Maddie and John go several extra miles to welcome everyone and make sure all their guests are happy. They even remembered everybody's name which we thought was a lovely touch. Honestly we can't fault the Rowan and can't wait to visit again soon.

Maddie and John are excellent hosts they go above and beyond for the comfort of there guests for instane John noticed i only ate the yolk of my breakfast egg so the next morning i had a petfectly poached egg yolk. They were caring and considerate as i have a disability they carried my luggage up to my room when i arrived and out to the car when i left. Just ask them if you are not happy about something or need anything they will do their best to help.

The shower controls as i am short but to be fair if i had let them kmow they would have turned on my shower.

A large spacious room, suitable for a small family, the bed was comfortable and the location is good. The breakfast was great.

We didn't mind, but guests may want to check when they're karaoke night is on either to join in .. or request a room slightly further away

Parking right outside location right by tramstop located on north shore but easy to get into town. John and Maddie lovely people friendly and superb hearty breakfast by john.superb comfy bed. Was a last minute trip so ok for 1 night but wouldn't stay for longer .

Double room very small tiny en suite basin in bedroom with only 1 triple plug socket not good as everything needs a charger these days. En suite a small shower and toilet with a step into wouldn't be good for elderly or bigger people.dated room needs updating and more sockets. No individual bedside lights. So was either off or on.We're there for one night last minute trip so was just a bed for the night. Booked a double room but seemed to get a small double.
