The Courthouse

The Courthouse is in a brilliant location in the beautiful village of Betws-y-Coed. It gets all the basics right: it’s super clean, has really comfortable beds and the breakfast is delicious. There are plenty of options nearby for eating and drinking and lots of useful information in the property to help with local walks and activities during your stay.

A minor point but I would prefer not to have to make my breakfast choices the night before (although appreciate this did mean everything was freshly cooked) and also to state what time I want to have breakfast - it takes away a bit of the relaxation element of a holiday. There was also a narrow 45 minute window to choose from, which felt a little limited. The property is very clean and comfortable but the decor is quite dated.

Very comfortable and clean. Ideal position to see much of north Wales. Very attentive host and an extremely good cook in the kitchen.

There is nothing we didn't like.

Needing to be away early to ensure a parking space in the mountains we were astonished to be told that as our first full day was a Bank Holiday, breakfast would not be available until 9am. Breakfast bookings were to be made by 9pm. We were offered a packed breakfast but when the weather forecast showed rain we tried to change back to the in-house breakfast. My wife received a surly rejoinder that " The sandwiches have already been made!". These turned out to be rather stale mini baguettes. We were forced into this option for our second morning as the weather was favourable for our climbing. What the in-house breakfast was like I have no idea.
