The Bartizan Galle Fort

Breakfast on the (very large) balcony, helpful and friendly staff (special shout out to Andrew, the Manager, who was very visible during our stay and personally helped our with some transportation), location in the fort, right next to the sea, packed-breakfast for our checkout day early start, afternoon tea.

Internet was weak when we arrived, but when we asked about this, they quickly fixed it, so really this wasn’t an issue at all. Apart from that, nothing could have been improved.

Wonderful hotel with an old world charm located exactly where you’d want to be by the wall in the old town. Staff were wonderful and the room perfect for our needs.

Small thing but a bar on site would be ideal so the top roof terrace could be used for sun downers.

On arrival we had a room upgrade, which was absolutely lovely. Our room was spacious with a private verandah. All the staff at The Bartizan were extremely helpful and polite. Breakfast was wonderful. The chilled background music made you feel very relaxed at the hotel.

The location was great and the staff were nice.

It looked completely different from the pictures, the room was tiny with a short bed, the curtains didn’t cover the windows properly, the bathroom had a glass door which meant turning on the light lid up the whole bedroom, it was super loud in the morning, the safe was not mounted onto the wall so one could just pick it up in theory. Last but not least, they charged us a hefty 30 gbp tax which I we didn’t experience elsewhere in Sri Lanka at least at this high amount.
