This is a friendly, if quirky hotel. Everything is modern, clean and well maintained, though furnishings are fairly basic. Our fellow guests seemed to be mostly of a more mature age group, quite a few were cyclists, which the hotel caters for very well. All in all, it felt a little bit like a kind of upmarket hostel for middle aged people. Breakfast is pretty varied and generous and there is complementary tea and coffee available 24/7 and other drinks and snacks can be purchased. The location is a 10 minute walk from the railway station and a 10-15 minute walk to the lovely, historic town centre. It feels pretty safe.

When booking, you can choose the category of room but the hotel states that all rooms are different. I can only speak for our double room, which was on the top, 4th floor, built into the sloping roof. Frankly, it was too small to be a double. On one side of the bed, you couldn’t get out of bed or to the bathroom without bending over to avoid a very low, angled beam. On the other side, you had to duck to avoid hitting your head on the wall-mounted TV. The bathroom was extremely compact, even for relatively slim people. The lighting in the room was inadequate, such as lamp shades hand-woven by Peruvian craftspeople - or some such. The roof mounted windows didn’t appear to allow you to have them open whilst maintaining a light black out, so we relied on the inadequate and overly noisy air conditioning. As I say, it may have just been our particular room. The self-service breakfast serving and sitting area is too crowded with furniture and guests were constantly getting in each other’s way. I hate to sound overly critical because I like what the hotel is trying to do, but it needs to think through some of the practicalities. And for over €200 for a double room, even with breakfast included, it brings the value into question.

What a fun funky place. Quality fit out and colour combination done by quality trades and painters as it wasn't a coverup job as some colourful places can be. Self storage luggage room was so good! If you wanted to be picky the room may have been a tad small but it was clean and functional as was the ensuite. But overall comforable The breakfast process was quirky which we really liked. Great welcome and service by staff. Great value. Highly recommended

Location was terrific.

This very much felt like a budget hotel. Breakfast was ok, room was basic and on the smaller side. Shower leaked onto the floor, toilet paper was like cardboard.
