Close to non tourist area and local restaurants; good transport options. Bath facilities - private onsen was great. Very friendly and helpful staff. General Japanese decor with tatami mats etc. Very comfortable and quiet.
Room booked as Japanese - just be aware that western style beds are provided in case you wanted futon style. We were happy with this due to age and creaky joints… Small amount of noise from level above.

Great location close to Demachiyanagi station and in the heart of Sakyo-ku. Very large room with a comfortable bed and friendly staff.
The bathroom is a little small for me, and early check-out was a little challenging, but otherwise it’s great!
