Friendly and welcoming staff, beautiful building

The pricing is not on par with the rooms, facilities and aesthetics of the place

Lovely hotel, conveniently positioned between the east and west coasts of the Highlands. Quintessentially Scottish. Comfortable beds. Delightful food and friendly staff.

Ledgowan lodge has a certain charm. The decor is amazing and despite so many curiosities it was spotless. Room was comfortable and well appointed. The one member of staff worked his socks off, was attentive and courteous and probably deserves a raise!

However, we did feel it was over priced compared with other hotels. There only seemed to be one member of staff for reception, the bar, waiting tables and I suspect prepping the food which was pleasent but sub par for the price. Breakfast was delivered in a stacato fashion to the serving area and the atmosphere of the breakfast room was a bit "village hall". Re-inforcing the sense of being taken for a ride on price was the number of tradesmen staying at the hotel, I am pretty sure their companies would not have stumped up what we paid per night. Also I received a message post stay which suggested it was my opportunity to leave review, whereas it was a DM to them.

Facilities within the bedrooms were disappointing and very noisy builders on site after 5pm
