Château Gütsch

An incredible place to stay! You are still centrally located in Lucerne and are a short walk to all of the city, but you are outside of its hustle and bustle in the quiet calm up on the hill! The staff was incredibly helpful with recommending places to eat in town and their in-house restaurant should not be overlooked either as it was incredible food. You are a short bus ride (or walk) from the main bus/train station so it is very easy to use this as a base to explore the greater area! Even the wooded park up the hill from Chateau Gütsch offered a beautiful morning walk to a restaurant up on the hill halfway to Kriens. The balconies also made mornings and evenings romantic watching the town from above enjoying champagne and snacks on them. And last but not least, the funicular to get up to the hotel from the main street is the coolest thing. Definitely not something you see everyday and made accessing the town below easy and fun.

The price of the breakfast was a tad steep.

Upon arrival , the front desk clerk failed to mention that our stay included breakfast, so we missed out on the first day The bathroom tub/ shower situation was very unsafe . There was no slip guard for large step in tub and it was difficult to get in and out of. The bed and bathroom linens were so rough , it was uncomfortable at best. One of the sink drains didn’t work and one light bar was out I already deleted the photos , but did mention issues to housekeeper and front desk.
