Regal Palms Resort

Spacious room with good facilities and not far from local attractions. Friendly helpful staff.

Needs refurbishing as rooms feel tired. Spa bath not really needed.

My son and myself stayed at the Regal Palms for 4 nights and it was absolutely terrific. I wanted something family friendly that had a kitchenette for making snacks/breakfast/light meals and entertainment for when we weren't out exploring. Regal Palms delivered! While the resort does have a slightly dated motel vibe- it's exceptionally clean and well presented. The luxury studio is modern inside and the heated floors in the bathroom were a nice surprise. The bed is very comfortable and on the firmer side which is what I prefer. Daily housekeeping meant we returned to a refreshed room each afternoon which was lovely. We didn't use the pool during our stay, but got great use out of the tennis court, mini golf and table tennis facilities. Location is not in the centre of town, which I knew before booking- I opted for facilities rather than location. Its probably a 15-20min walk, though we went with ubers/taxis out of convenience... there is a bus stop nearby as well. All of the staff were lovely and very helpful. We will definitely stay again if we return to Rotorua.

The bathroom looks remodeled and is large and clean. AC was appreciated. The staff was nice. I appreciated the welcome basket of cookies & milk.

I don’t think the word “resort” should be used here. More like motel. The bed was really worn and bad. I kept sinking in & rolling off the side. The hot tub is weird being in the room. The room had a hint of old cigarette smoke. There was a bright light outside of my front window. Need blackout curtains not blinds. Paid too much for this worn property. Would never stay here again.
