Hôtel France et Chateaubriand

Exceptional location. Very handy for good restaurants and the wall to walk off meals. Excellent breakfast.

The room cleaning a reapply was variable. Some days it was done with care and other days it appeared that the bare minimum had been done. Get that right and I’d probably give it 5 stars.

The hotel is in a brilliant position just within the walls. It is very nicely decorated and clean with a bar which goes out into the square in front which is very relaxing.

We were comfortable as the weather wasn't too hot but noticed some.comments about lack of Aircon. It was not evident in our room. Would definitely have been needed this.past summer!

The hotel and room was really nice. The hotel was beautifully decorated and steeped in history. Loads of bars and restaurants on the door step. Staff were lovely. The bar and restaurant for the hotel are really nice and the staff are super attentive. The hotel welcomed our doggo and she also came down to breakfast with us. The bed was massive and very comfy. Bathroom was well equipped with a good shower. Breakfast was good with loads of choice in an awesome room. Lots of car parking in the local area. We used the underground one which was awesome.

On arrival we weren't informed that there was no air conditioning. Outside temp was in the 30's. We went to our room which overlooked the front square, which was very busy. When we turned the air con on for the room it didn't operate and came up with a fault code. After raising the issue with reception we were told that there was no air con in the hotel at present. As we had no air conditioning we had to open the room windows which opened onto the noisy main square. The room was boiling and the noise from the square didn't subside until 2.30-ish in the morning. It wasn't a pleasant night.
