The Sebel Quay West Suites Sydney

The view from our apartment was spectacular, the location was central and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was perfectly located, excellent staff and amenities. The only thing I took issue with was that when booking I selected Xcover insurance under the proviso I could cancel the insurance for full refund right up to 8th July. I sent an email on 1st July advising my intent to cancel the insurance, I heard nothing….. I sent at least 3 follow up emails asking for assistance in order to cancel before the 8th July. I have still not heard anything. I felt I was mislead with the ability to cancel this insurance when it was offered/sold by Expedia. I have a copy of all my attempts to contact XCover if you would like to look into it.

For view alone it was absolutely worth it. The harbor view was one of the top two hotel views I’ve ever had. The pool was lovely, indoors and heated. Housekeeping was great the room was perfect. The only small negative was that we purchased breakfast included and breakfast was repetitive and options limited (and a lot of them were things we didn’t like), also the staff is very particular at breakfast for instance I had 2 adults and 3 kids, the kid offerings were even more limited (and not things my kids liked) and I was told I couldn’t upgrade them (even at additional cost) to an adult option (the kids eggs and sausage were not liked by any of the five of us - and were very unpicky basic breakfast people) and we couldn’t change anything (eg not possible to sub bacon for sausage). So we didn’t look forwards to breakfast particularly (although my husband loved the eggs Benedict and I loved the iced coffees). Also two mornings we had service issues, one morning in particular they didn’t come to take our order so I found them and then they forgot to put our order in (granted that was a busy day but others who came in after us had already finished and left before we even got our food). In retrospect I definitely wouldn’t have added breakfast, everything else was excellent though.

Great central location. Fantastic views of the Harbour, Staff very friendly and helpful.
