The bar serves delicious small plates after dinner hours. The grounds are gorgeous and peaceful. We loved the domesticated ducks on the stream.

Staff was fantastic! Front desk was on it! For the duration of the stay. And our server at brunch was funny, witty, and quick! Great staff!

I fulfilled a dream with this stay. This is definitely a niche hotel. The facility is more than 100 years old and changes have maintained the original features but also acknowledged the present to the extent possible. (The elevator is staff-operated.) But there are only two floors of rooms. The view is gorgeous, and although numerous trains passed along the river below, the sound was minimal, even with my window open. My stay was midweek, and very pleasant. Those with a love of history and quaint, charming places will love this hotel.
