The Carnarvon Arms

Everything was wonderful EXCEPT no air conditioning so the whole hotel felt like a sauna (we were there during a heat wave in May) and they didn’t do table service for dinner so we had to order our food and drinks from the bar, which isn’t the end of the world but knocks a star off the rating. Room was super cute, well decorated, the bathroom was really nice, loved the shower and it was very clean. We were able to walk to Highclere Castle from the hotel (20 minute walk) which was great because taxis are very expensive.

We loved our stay at this inn. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a great breakfast in the morning, and we were very close to Highclere Castle. Definitely recommend The Carnarvan Arms.

If you are planning a visit to Highclere, this is a charming, and lovely place to stay to complete your visit!

Excellent staff we didn’t feel like a main meal on our second night due to my wife feeling unwell. I only wanted a sandwich in the evening but the light meals had already finished. The manager sorted me out with an excellent sandwich.
