The Temple Lodge

The views from the Eagle Nest room are spectacular. Truly adventurous, as you feel like you’re staying in the Swiss Family Robinson‘s house. It is very romantic. I absolutely loved hearing the waves crash against the cliff all night long.

The monkeys were a bit intimidating, as they kept turning on the water in the outside bathroom and making themselves at home by lounging around the open deck. I think if you just ignore them, they won’t bother you, but they are a bit mischievous.

Everything was perfect. We loved the gorgeous floral landscaping entry into the property. It felt like a private oasis. The view out over the ocean was stunning. The room was well appointed and the netting around the bed made it feel so cozy! The covered deck was cool and we absolutely adored the cheeky monkeys! It was like having a little monkey sanctuary of your own! The breakfast was outstanding. There were many choices but from the first day we both loved our order so much, we wanted it daily! I had the dragon bowl and my husband had the pancakes. Whoever designed the rooms and landscaping has done a phenomenal job!

There really wasn’t anything we didnt’t like.

The views were stunning and it is a great location.

It had very basic facilities and it felt overpriced. We had no water one day for 4 hours. The internet was quite patchy in the swimming pool area. The room didn’t have a fridge so I wasn’t able to have a cold drink in the room after the restaurant closed (at 9pm). There was no kettle and the restaurant team seem to feel annoyed when I asked for some everyday to take some medication.

Breakfast was healthy and adequate; the turmeric juice was excellent.

The issue was with accessibility — this is a lovely property but not not meant for seniors with some mobility issues. The outdoors bathroom with possibility of monkeys, the foot high door threshold, the bed on a raised platform which one needs a step adder to climb made our stay uncomfortable. The staff were very cooperative and the issues were not their fault. The property description could have been a bit more detailed. We had booked for 2 days but sadly had to move to another hotel as this was proving a bit challenging for our group which included an elderly person.
