This is a fine former coaching inn. It boasts an excellent location, central in town for my weekend in Wantage. It is handy for exploring the town and situated right by the bus stop, a bonus as I was travelling by public transport. It has a first rate choice of breakfasts and the Full English was very good. The staff were friendly and approachable. The Arkells beer served in the bar was first rate and possibly the best ale I drank all weekend !
The decor of guest rooms and the corridors leading to them is now rather jaded and in need of an update.

Location is very central. The breakfast options were excellent.
Unfortunately I was there during the heatwave and with no Aircon the room was exceptional hot, even with a fan and the windows open

The location is excellent, right in the heart of the town square. Plenty of choice for breakfast.
We were kept awake all night by either an air con unit, extractor fan or water pump (not sure which) switching on and off very loudly all night, possibly above our room. Room was very dark even with the light on, no bedside sockets, table or lights. Dirty kettle. Nowhere to put anything in the bathroom, toiletries had to go on shower floor or on top of toilet.
