Cost of a coffee

Nice location. Comfortable bed. Large room. Lovely bathroom. Very clean. Friendly staff. Beautiful hotel inside.

We had some very worn out frayed towels. Had to ask for tea/coffee making facilities. Parking incredibly expensive and parking spaces numerous so can’t see why so expensive as not being used. Worth looking on parking apps for nearby parking.

We really enjoyed our stay at Viceroy Santa Monica. The bedroom was fantastic — very comfortable, beautifully presented and a great place to relax after a day out. The bathroom was also excellent, and overall we slept very comfortably. The main thing that stopped us from giving 9 or 10/10 was the value for money. Given the price of the stay, we felt we didn't get quite as much in return as we expected. There were also a number of additional charges, including $68 for parking and $75 for early check-in, despite the room already being ready when we arrived. We also didn't receive the welcome drink that was included with our stay. These are small things individually, but together they made the overall experience feel a little less good value. We also paid $39.87 for two coffees and two croissants at the hotel bar, which felt particularly expensive. Overall, we had a very enjoyable stay and the room itself was excellent. The location is fantastic and the hotel has a lot going for it, but at the price point we paid, we expected a little more attention to the small details and better overall value.

All the added costs. The pool area was lovely in concept, but unfortunately didn't feel as clean as we'd expected. There were quite a lot of leaves from the surrounding trees on the poolside bedding, which took away from the experience somewhat.

Close to beach, breakfast was good, nice staff

There was a cockroach that got on my bed, at least they changed my room quickly, but it wasn’t pleasant and made me question if it was clean. The pool was disappointing and they rudely offered me a room earlier but would have to pay when most hotels don’t ask for that.
