Quinta Pecêga - AL

We loved the beautiful view, the swimming pool and the surrounding landscape. The location was perfect for enjoying some peace and quiet. The room was lovely and very clean, and the food was also very good. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it was lovely to see three generations of the same family working together. The breakfast area was beautiful as well.

The soundproofing could be improved, as noise travelled easily and made the room less peaceful than expected. The bed was also too firm for my personal preference, which affected my comfort during the night. Due to the hotel’s secluded location, a car is essential both to reach the property and to explore the surrounding area. These were the main drawbacks of an otherwise pleasant stay.

Breakfast was very good, great continental with the best homemade youghurt and pastale de nata. The room was clean and spacious, with nice balcony view of the river. It was easy to drive to Regua, but you definately need a car.

I would have liked communication regarding some wine tasting. We went elsewhere but it would have been nice if was offered to us or.even included as then we would have probably bought their wine. We wanted to have dinner there the first night about 6.30 pm but could not seem to arrange anything so went into regua, but would of preferred tapas and relaxing with the view

The views from the hotel were amazing. The hotel grounds were decorated so beautifully too. The rooms were lovely and clean. The pool area was lovely. Such a lovely peaceful area. We enjoyed a few hours most days sunbathing by the pool. The parking at the hotel is fine. There is plenty. The turn from the road into the hotel was a bit tight but not too bad. We walked down to Regua every night. The walk down is about 35 minutes. The walk up is more difficult but we did it most nights as Ubers are hard to get. The walk down is lovely to be honest. I would definitely stay in the hotel again.

The breakfast was poor. It was basically all carbs. It was too much bread. Desperately needed some form of protein and fibre. A very heavy unhealthy breakfast. We stayed for 5 days so the breakfast was definitely not ideal for 5 days. The breakfast was 2 bread buns each, a croissant each and a pastel de nata (a bad one) then some slices of cheese and ham and a pot of yoghurt. Desperately needed less bread and some fruit and maybe some form of egg or something. I also think the owners were too quiet. It verged on a little bit strange how quiet they were. We 100% would have tried some of their wine if they had offered this. We actually never bought any wine from them as it didn't feel like it was even an easy option to approach them and ask them. We found this very strange that we went to other vineyards and tried their wines but didn't try the wine that the hotel that we stayed in produced. The reason was the staff being too quiet and maybe not approachable. There was a sign in the corridor area with the prices of the wines and a tapas selection so it is available but it didn't seem like the owners wanted people to try their wines.

They wouldn't allow us to have any food in our room, and refused to give us plates or cutlery, and there are no restaurants in walking distance, and they didn't have any food suitable for my pregnant wife
