A beautiful and charming hotel in the heart of Matera. Our room was built inside a cave, making the stay a truly authentic and unique experience. The cave was surprisingly comfortable and beautifully maintained.

Very well placed and straight forward to access with luggage. Breakfast good and staff helpful.
Our cave room (room 12) had a shower head above the jacuzzi bath which was difficult to use.

For visiting Matera it was a good location but not truly as photos present and certainly not the steep steps to the room and into the room itself. There was no kettle, but there was safe, a bath. We had no heat and needed to ask for additional blanket. The staff were neither friendly nor unfriendly.
