Beautiful location, house and furnishings very out dated. A/C did work upstairs. Some lights needed bulbs. Bathrooms, especially downstairs need a lot of updating. Beds good , bedding old and pilly. Pictures online are deceiving. Nice dock and fishing.

we really enjoyed the stay. But could have used couches that fold out or a couple of futons. Love seats are to small for tall people. But hope to come back .

We spent a much needed family gathering long weekend with our 3 adult children and spouses and 2 grandchildren. Plenty of rooms to enjoy football or conversation inside as well as the choice of porches or the dock. Kitchen was well supplied with everything for cooking and though well lived in, the accommodations were very relaxing, clean and beds comfortable . Safety locks up high on almost all the doors leading outside were very comforting to our young daughter in law! The owner was prompt to answer questions about boat lift on the dock. We hope to stay again.

We had a great time! The location is perfect - beautiful lake access & had all that we needed for fun on the lake. We did run out of paper towels on day 2, foil/ plastic wrap & trash bags were not supplied so bring your own

If you are looking for new and modern, this is not the place for you. But, if you want a place that has character and charm, this is it. Large well-furnished home with plenty of room to spread out. Clean as a pin, comfortable beds, two large porches, great lot with an easy walk to the water, deep water for swimming, convenient to marina and grocery store, and good dock. All of this plus an owner who obviously cares about the satisfaction of his guests. Many thanks to Mr Riggs and his daughter, Connie, for going above and beyond to see that we had a great vacation. We will definitely be back.

The home itself was large and allowed our family enough space to spread out and be comfortable. The swimming is great by the dock, but watch out we were almost run over by a jet ski coming out of the cove next door.

Great Lake front property. Access to the water was easy peasy unlike a lot of Smith Lake rentals, had lots of water toys for our use. A/C did a fantastic job on the main level. Downstairs window unit cooled well enough, just had to leave all bedroom doors open to get the cooling. All in all was a great trip. Would rent again. Thanks Mr Wayne Riggs

It was the perfect home for our group of teens and adults to enjoy the lake and time with each other.

We enjoyed our visit. House was not what we expected.

Mr. Riggs was great to work with as we had to make a change due to Covid. He was responsive and empathetic to our needs. His lake house worked great for us and we had a wonderful time. The house is well stocked with kitchen tools, games, and fishing rods. Close lake access with a nice dock made it easy to use our kayaks. Kids enjoyed swimming off of the dock. Lots of fun playing ping pong and the two kitchens made it easy to fix the kids’ meals. Well worth staying at Sweet Home Alabama.

We had a great weekend and family get-together in this large, welcoming home. The long driveway and very large lot gave us plenty of room for parking and outdoor activities. Having upper and lower living quarters was perfect. With kitchens in both units, three bedrooms in the upper and two bedrooms in the lower was ideal for our family with younger children. The upper area had two large living / family rooms with plenty of seating and eating areas for people to gather. The weather was perfect to enjoy the water and large dock areas. We rented kayaks, a paddleboat, paddleboards and a lily pad, which was a huge hit with the children. There was plenty of room on the docks for all the toys. This is an adorable older home, thus the charm and "warm family" feeling. Not a criticism, just suggestions for some TLC and efficiencies. The screen/storm doors from the upper and lower sun rooms to the outdoors need to be fixed/adjusted so they can be opened and used more safely. The drains need to be cleared - the bathtub and one sink in the upper bath nearest the bedrooms was very slow to drain, thus requiring long waits between showering. It was cumbersome being requested to remove the sheets from the beds and bring towels from the baths and pile all in the laundry area. The extensive kitchen cabinets and long serving counter were well stocked but could have been more organized and easier to find items, then put them away after cleaning. Having two refrigerators upstairs gave us plenty of space for food and beverages. The owners were helpful and even provided extra folding tables which we set up in the sun room and deck. All in all, we'd rent this home again knowing we'd have plenty of room and fun in the lake for a large family get-together.

Large home with beds for everyone. Property is almost flat with the lake so there are not a lot of steps down to the water. Pier is adequate but could stand some upgrading. Overall great place and we all had a great time.

Everything was real nice and the lake view was great. Family enjoyed our stay. We will be back
