Kids and us loved the complimentary iced tea on the ground floor. There was also cold water refill station near the restaurant. Kids Enjoyed the pool. Location was great. Close enough to food/ shopping/ attractions. Blinds worked well and kept out the morning light.

Breakfast was average. Pretty much all the pastries, banana bread etc where inedible. We had breakfast 3x and it didn't get any better. Check in is at 3pm it's a pretty inconvenient time, though we where able to have our luggage held.

fantastic, friendly staff. Good location, easy to get around. Awesome outside area to sit and have a drink or a snack. the restaurant was lovely, and breakfast was great and lots to choose from.

The room was in a location that was very noisy and that was apparently an upgraded room. The first night the water wasnt very hot in the bathroom, it was a bit better the second night. I ordered a water from room service and it didnt come, I said dont worry but if I was trying to impress a guest I would have brought one down free of charge. The breakfast was not the best that I have experienced in competing hotels in the area. One of the bakery pastries was very unpleasant. Im not sure if there were no chefs cooking fresh eggs because of christnas but every orher hotel has this service. I never use kettles in hotel rooms, I prefer a pod machine, its a nice touch. We tried to use the gym but there was an extended family of at least 10 people that were using it as a playgroup for there many children/toddlers. They had all their clothes in piles on the floor and there bags etc and they had made themselves very comfortable. They at first made no attempt to move and expected us to wirk around them. They did eventually moved out of our way but they all were taking turns showering in the gym and were very loud and overbearing and a little intimidating as if we were invading their space. We felt we had no privacy to do our workout. There was no one checking these areas for guest behaviour, some of those children were under 5 years old. The coffee machines at breakfast are skim milk only and I had to run around asking if there was a machine with full cream milk. I was eventually told to just get it from the bar. I am fairly easy to please but there were just a number if things that were a negative on this trip.

The hotel needs renovation. Bad light and too dark in the room. Overall it is too old hotel which needs to be improved to justify the charges.

It was cosy, clean and the right size room for myself and my family.

We had a harbour view superior room it was great as we could watch the fireworks from our window. The facilities were clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed using the pool and the restaurant food was lovely too. It was only a short walk to great restaurants, the ferry wharf to access the CBD and walking distance to Lyric Theatre and the star.

They think they need to provide free wifi so you can access the TV channels that are not free to air. They allow you to stream from your phone, which is great but you had to pay for wifi to access this feature. However, the staff were wonderful and comped the wifi we used.

We informed front desk that water pressure from the overhead shower was poor, and the water temperature wasn’t consistent and kept fluctuating from hot to was tepid. Even though the front desk assured us they had made note of our complaint, no action was taken to resolve the issue. We planned to check out by 930am in our last day, and were up early to get organised accordingly. Around 830am, after my daughter and I had finishing showering, we had a service person knock on the our door to say the fire alarm sensor had gone off - he was an older guy, didn’t have ID of any sort, nor did he introduce himself, just showed up holding a service ladder and only explanation was he was there to check the room. My husband answered the door and let him in, it was quite a confusing conversation as we tried to narrow down what had triggered off the sensor as none of us are smokers. Finally the deduction was the steam from the shower had triggered the “fire alarm sensor” and the guy left after saying that we should consider cutting down the length of our showers!! Upon check out, we mentioned this to front desk staff as we still weren’t clear exactly what had transpired to set off the alarm, however the lady checking us out didn’t seem very interested - her only justification was that “we weren’t being charged for it” - not helpful at all.
