Novotel York Centre

Staff were friendly. Location was chosen as it was nearest to the theatre we were going to and was ideal.

The cupboard and fridge doors in the room have a lip with a recess at the top. I was disgusted as they were full of other peoples old crumbs and looked like they hadn't been cleaned for a long time. Things like that make me a bit queasy. I have never seen anything like this in a hotel room, it was horrible, but as we were in a rush to go out I didn't complain at the time but it put me off using the kettle and the cups which were near to the dirt. Also there was a queue at reception due to everyone trying to download the app to get a free drink and the staff helping each person do this as they booked in. We spent a long time behind other people doing this when we just wanted to get to our room.

Central location to york

Leaving 😃

Very modern well situated hotel. Staff excellent, rooms very clean and had excellent facilities. Food excellent

The soundproofing was not good. Because of tiled floors in the rooms you could hear all the footsteps from other rooms. My room had a connecting door to next room so you could here every noise from next door and at early hours of morning very off putting

Great location for the Barbican. Good TV. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Shower unsafe, no grab handle when climbing in/out. No dressing table or chair. Separate toilet small and grubby.
