The atmosphere is very calm, it’s a very relaxing hotel. The staff are very professional and warm. I had an amazing nights rest, I didn’t want to leave the bed! The breakfast was delicious, caters very well for the vegan diet.
Nothing, I couldn’t fault it in any way.

Lovely cosy Coaching Inn. Rooms were beautiful with everything we needed. Restaurant/bar/coffee shop warm & welcoming. Staff were lovely & very helpful. Food in bar was good & breakfast was also very good. Parking was easy.
Shower over bath as older people we would prefer a walk in shower now.

The hotel was lovely, with a mixture of new and historic features. The bed was comfortable.
The bathroom was very outdated and could do with a plumber assessing some of the pipe work

We loved the building. Comfortable tastefully decorated room. exceptionally clean. Nice outside space for enjoying a drink. Excellent breakfast. Staff professional and friendly. Conveniently located off A1
restaurant not open on our night of stay so used the Bistro which was clearly understaffed and lacked ambience. Pleasant bar but all tables were reserved so thankfully it was a nice evening so we could sit outside for pre dinner drinks.

Great location off A1 and excellent facilities
Amstel was a bit flat in the bar, though it was exchanged for a new one

The staff.
I would have liked better pillows, the ones on the bed were all very firm, felt cheap. The bathroom toilet seat was stained yellow, the grout around the bath tiles need to be cleaned, as does the shower curtain. Noisy floors and when the couple in a room next to me were having a super argument I heard everything. Very little on the menu for Gluten Free vegetarians.

beautifully clean and well equipped room. comfy bed and nice towels and toiletries. lots of little extras made it special.
£90 for a single person for 1 night when attending a function in the pub that was £50 was steep and would not normally be able to afford. double occupancy was £120so felt a bit cheated. wasn’t a single room so I can see why but seemed excessive.
the bar manager was quite rude when we had to leave at 12 despite having a room. other guests not in our party commented on it.

I am a repeat visitor to The Bell ~ first contact was obviously with the reception, who always have a friendly helpful welcome. My other main contact was with the breakfast staff. The two ladies who mainly looked after me were always ready to greet you with a big smile & nothing is ever too much trouble, even if it's busy. Their knowledge of the area & places to visit is appreciated by those guests who enquire.
nothing to dislike

Everything good standard. Really good breakfast . Very pleasant and efficient staff. Would stay again when in the area.
Really good value for 3 adults (1 room) which is unusual.
No complaints at all. Everything as expected.

The room was extremely cosy, comfortable and had a great feel to it, like coming home to your own bedroom. I loved the old milk churn, books and radio in the room which was playing classical music when I first entered. There were tea and coffee making facilities which is normal, but unusually, they supplied biscuits and bars of white and milk chocolate, which was a lovely touch. My favourite thing was that the bathroom came equipped with organic soap, shampoos and body lotions, which is amazing for me as I usually bring my own due to only using organic cosmetics. The food in the bar/bistro was very decent and they had several gluten free options and they have a lovely courtyard to sit in which is perfect for warm afternoons and evenings.
The room was quite warm and due to very heavy curtains, it stopped any breeze from getting through even with an open window. On the second night I did open the curtains but there was quite a bright light outside my room in the courtyard so not totally ideal but it never stopped me sleeping. I can imagine it might be extremely hot in the height of the summer without air conditioning. It's such an old hotel and the sound proofing isn't great plus the doors tend to bang shut if you let them go but it was a very nice boutique hotel and I would definitely stay there again.
