great location for our conference at Te Papa, nice room and restuarant.

The hotel itself is lovely and very well located across the road from Te Papa and an easy walk to the harbour or downtown. Wonderful artworks dotted around the premises are a lovely touch. Hotel staff were wonderful, friendly and very accommodating.

Some form over function issues. A black bathroom with dim lighting - seriously? It's impossible to apply makeup. Also room lighting switch system is infuriating - roaming the room when tired trying to work out how to darken the room is also infuriating. As are open showers, water all over the floor is annoying and dangerous, Beware some rooms have a window looking out onto a brick wall, no natural daylight at all. It's worth paying the extra for an ocean view room which has a lovely balcony with outdoor furniture.
