it’s pretty funky and modern meets Swiss chalet

the room was tiny and mis represented in pictures. it didn’t have many facilities I would consider standard - like space for a suitcase in a cupboard or mini-fridge. also no way to make the room dark/ block out the light.

The fancy picture of hotel and room locate separately . it’s not convenient and don’t recommend for couple .

Best place to stay in Zermatt! The room is very nicely decorated, with furniture and artwork from local artist Heinz Julen, giving a chique, yet cosy and modern mountain flair feeling. The views to the mountains and Matterhorn are spectacular. Beds are super comfortable. Daniel and the whole team are very friendly and took care of all our needs. We can't wait to come back. Thank you for making our stay UNIQUE. Backstage Zermatt won our hearts!!

A James Bond entrance through a tunnel bored into mountain--an elevator opening to quirky mix of industrial/traditional alpen-style rooms with spectacular views and decks in each one. Full kitchen(even a fondue pot). Full access to spa at the Backstage hotel with it's kitschy "Creation" theme (a "hologram" in the mirror will tell you that you are AMAZING). Make sure you tour the hotel--the designer Julien is often there and we had a chance to talk to him. Walk to lifts, ski to Italy!

Breakfast was just ok. Recommend stopping at Co-op across from train station upon arrival and loading up on groceries before taking the electric taxi to the property (taxis are expensive)

Booked for 2 nights for my mother in laws birthday who was visiting us form the US. You certainly get the wow factor when you walk up the James Bond style tunnel and get in the private lift, then walk out into the apartment with the Matterhorn in from of you!!!! 2 lovely staff met us on the street and took us to the apartment and showed us everything- so helpful and friendly. Everything is of a high standard and very well equipped. I'd booked a restaurant for my mother in laws birthday dinner but she chose to cancel and have fondue in the apartment instead it was so nice. Great outdoor patio area just for our apartment and them the shared spa....great. Surprised but happy somewhere so nice was happy for our dog to be with us.

A little surprised somewhere so big and well designed only has 1 small shower for both bedrooms.

Amazing location. Amazing apartment. Staff were incredibly helpful. We were able to leave our bags and go hike. They brought our bags to the hotel downtown so we could grab them when we were ready to leave.

It did get hot during the day, with all the windows. Could not find AC or fans. Spa closed early. Wish we could have enjoyed it longer. Also, hot tub was not very hot.

This is our second holiday in this apartment, it is perfect for us with two children and a dog. It is spacious, comfortable and has everything you need. The children love the pool and hot tub which is directly outside the apartment. The beds are very comfy and the kitchen very well equipped.

The Only thing is that the sofa isn’t very comfortable.

The best serviced appartment / hotel in Zermatt since 2008, absolutely perfect !

The apartment was beautifully furnished and the view of the Matterhorn was amazing. The property offers free shuttle from the train station to the apartment and I suggest you book at as it’s difficult to find/access the apartment at the start.

Everything is top notch. Starting from the interior design, amenities, spa facilities, service, cleanliness.. Absolutely fabulous.

During the week could be some noise discomfort from a nearby construction works. Safer to inquire before booking about the latest status of the neighbors construction works progress.

Amazing property! Do contact the property ahead of arrival directly by phone! We booked an apartment and it was amazing; however we went straight to the property while checking through theirs Hotel is at a totally different location. So call ahead of arrival they will be happy to organize pickup from the train station by their car. The design of all of the rooms is amazing and it really is as they claim on their homepage: Heinz the owner will come to every table and welcome you to his home. He not just designed the place but crafted all of the art inside the rooms himself.

Fantastic and spacious, extremely well equipped apartment with garden (Perfect for our dog) and direct access to the pool/spa area. The staff was friendly and helpful. Special mention goes to the cleaning ladies, which were almost superhuman, fast, quiet and the place was spotless ! Very impressive :)

The walls are a bit thin and we had a noisy neighbours above us during the night. However the staff was super helpful in this case as well :)

It was fabulous! We stayed in the luxurious, cleverly updated/restored 700-year-old cabin, and it was just perfect. It's right along the river, so you can hear the water rushing past. The cabin is very private, just perfect for two people (and our dog!) and we loved the private, relaxing outdoor patio. We appreciated that it was on the edge of Zermatt, and very close to trails that we had a wonderful time exploring, The staff was absolutely wonderful from check-in to delivering the delicious breakfast basket that we chose to include as part of our stay. Thank you Backstage Hotel. We loved every minute of our stay!

We were sad when it was time to leave, but we actually extended our stay for a second night! Negative to positive. 😀
