Hotel Magdalena

Loved everything. One of my favorite hotels I’ve ever stayed at!

The bedroom was spacious, comfortable with sleek design. I loved the blue tiles in the bathroom. The view from the bedroom is just ok but great from cat walk and the swimming pool was relaxing and private. The restaurant has quality breakfast and the all the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. There is plenty of shopping (closings) around and place to eat like Aba (restaurant) and Two Hands (coffee shop)

The bathroom has a strange setting has the sink is facing the 2 bed and the shower area was small for 2 person. I was not happy with the pickup of trash at 4:30 and 6:30 am. So I changed room for a quieter side. (hotel make it easy to switch)

Wonderful location on S Congress close to restaurants and entertainment, and a short walk away from the Capitol.

On the pricey side if you’re just looking for a play to stay after you’re done playing in Austin.

The hotel was designed very nicely, with attention to detail. The location was also excellent, showing a different side to Austin. The pool area was nice, though small and not suited for any more than a third of the guests.

- I paid for early check-in at 10 am, which they accepted but did not recognise. I then spent the next 5 hours waiting for my room. Only through continually asking if it was ready did I find out it was - no text or call. - The rooms are clean enough, but markings on the wall and deep dirt are pretty clear. The room setup was also strange. Our shower flooded every time it was used. The coffee machine was just placed inside the wardrobe, without a place to put it in the room. - The pool guy deserves a raise. One member of staff to serve roughly 40 people is insane. - The restaurant only serves brunch with really poor service also. Particularly from a gentleman who made us move tables and then scoffed when I asked if they served anything other than lunch. I said I had seen people buy the pool eating other food, he said: "No, they only serve a couple of things." - Overall, I was disappointed. There just is not anything about this place that justifies the price. It has potential but needs better management.
