Perfect location close to Paddington station making arrival quick and easy. Lots of good dining options, shopping and public transport all walking distance.

Navigating the unusual staircase set up which requires carefully crossing over an open descending stair case which can be tricky with heavy luggage or anyone with mobility issues

Breakfast is not available; and as we had already stayed int he Hyde Park/Paddington area we were aware of options. The room was very clean; ensuite was very small; but for 2 night stay adequate. Towels were wafer thin; so I'm very confused about the 4 star rating. Also, carpets were permanently stained and a bathroom tile was cracked and the pieces were shifting if you were unfortunate enough to step on it (hard to avoid in such a small place as it was in front of the small sink), so felt somewhat hazardous.

We were put in a basement room and it's not that as is advertised one "might hear noises from the underground" - one will hear very loud rumbling from the underground until quite late at night. Bedding was adequate, but no extra pillows / blankets were in the cupboard, something else I would expect at a 4 star location. The ground floors rooms could use better soundproofing for street noise as the neighborhood is not very quiet until quite late.
