The Abbey Notting Hill

I liked the bath and the room had a key rather than a key card so the door physically locked which made me feel safer as a female solo traveller, the location was super good and accessible so much to do and short walking distance to portobello market. Smart TV in the room too made it easy to cast my shows which added to the comfortability. The woman on the front desk was so welcoming and friendly it helped to have such a strong and friendly female presence on the front desk she really made my checking in experience 10/10.

For the location you’d expect a higher quality hotel but it is 3 stars which has to be kept in mind it’s an old Kensington house converted to a hotel so there’s stairs to the room and I was at the top so was tiny bit of a struggle but nothing to complain about. The bath was old so the jets were a bit crusty but I just gave them a wipe with wipes I bought in the shop and it was good to go.

The staff are excellent and helpful. The location is superb. The reception area is pleasant and modern.

Once past reception, the stair carpet is worn and dirty and needs replacing. It is an old building, and the plumbing is far from perfect. The place should be refitted and refurbished.

Perfectly located for exploring Notting Hill and the city. Hotel was within walking distance of Notting Hill Gate underground station. This made getting around simple and stress free. I would have to say the big stand out for this hotel was the staff. They were all very friendly and helpful. I would like to make special mention of Sarah who maned the front desk during our stay. She could not have been more welcoming and available without being intrusive.

The room was very small without space to put our bags.
