The beds were like sleeping on a concrete slab

The room and amenities were outstanding our evening meal in the pub was some of the best we've ever eaten ( the sirlion steak was amazing) the teenager said his cheeseburger with added bacon and added cheese was amazing!

The breakfast was disgusting greasy to the point it was uneatable if stayed with you again we wouldn't eat it even if it was FREE

The cosiest of the TLH hotels.we have stayed in Derwent and Victoria. The room was basic but spacious, clean and comfortable. The shower head was held in place with a shoe lace which sort of let down the good standard of the bathroom. Water was comfortably hot for a shower and washing hands. The restaurant was pleasantly decorated but was 'tired' and needed sprucing up. The walls near the tables were grubby. Breakfasr was enjoyable and the food was hot. Coffee was good. The pool and spa areas were lovely, probably the best part of the complex. The singers and the bingo in the Carlton entertainment hall were OK but the room that it was held in was far too big for the amount of guests that used it. It took away the atmosphere but we enjoyed the singers. The lifts were 'scrary' very small, slow and the view of the walls through the door glass, as we moved up and down the floors was not good. Staff were friendly in all areas. The only thing that lets down the hotel is the decor in the corridors. The carpets are worn and grubby in lots of areas but appeared to be well vacuumed. We feel it was a nice relaxing weekend and will definitely be returning.
