Fairfield Inn and Suites by Marriott Bakersfield Central

It was close by all the things to do in Bakersfield. The bed was very nice and it is was a good stay altogether!

Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by a fantastic front desk agent who was exceptionally friendly and walked us through where breakfast and coffee were served, along with all the hotel amenities. Both the hotel and our room were spotless. This is what you hope for after a day of work and a 2 hour drive.

What I didn't like at all was waking up Saturday morning to find the toilet clogged, even though we had used it the night before and it worked fine. I understand things happen in a hotel, so I called the front desk to report the issue before heading out for a couple of hours so maintenance could fix it. When we returned, a plunger had simply been left outside the room. When I went downstairs, the front desk girl told me the plunger was there for me to use myself. I told her I wasn't going to plunge the toilet myself, and she just replied, "Okay." I don't like confrontations, but at checkout, I spoke to the male desk clerk who had checked us in originally, he was very apologetic and helpful. We stayed for only one night because my child had an early soccer game Saturday morning, so having to use the lobby restroom instead of our own room's facilities was quite inconvenient.

The room was nice

That we had to pay $10 a night for parking especially with 2 disabled family members that can no longer drive.

I have traveled for 2 months out of the year for the last 3 years. I unusually check for free parking. Parking is NEVER charged when they have a parking all around the facility. I think I should have been informed when I checked in that there was a $10. fee per day. A few minor issues with room. One of the lights did not work. sheer curtains was ripped and di not work. Weird small bathroom where there was knob inside shower if used was blocked by toilet. Juice machine not working for breakfast - no backup.
