The property was unique and beautiful. The room had some difficult issues with a shower nob broken, fire place wouldn’t start and the ceiling fan didn’t work.

Not enough light in the room! No light at all in the bathtub.shower area! Shower was in bathtub, which was VERY high to climb over and get into! And then there wa no light overhead in the shower!

200 year old Inn and Tavern located less than 1/2 mile from the start of the battle of Gettysburg. Facility was used as an operating room and recovery station for confederate soldiers right behind the front lines of the battle. Also a stop on the underground railroad. Supposed to be heavily haunted but we had no unusual guests going bump in the night. Room was quaint and cozy with 10' ceilings, large room, jacuzzi tub, gas fireplace, 4 poster bed with nice mattress, guest gathering area upstairs, downstairs, and on an upper deck with bath robes and slippers for guests. Inn is outside city limits but near a busy intersection (don't really hear it). Distance to downtown Gettysburg is about 2 miles. Lee's army came right past this Inn on the way to the battlefield. Breakfast was nice and filling. Staff was very courteous.

Just the little things. Slippers in the room were all ladies sized so didn't work for me. Jacuzzi was nice but drain plug had small leak letting water level go down after a few minutes. Floor was creaky but it's also a 200 year old Inn with all wood floors. Windows didn't open and was a little stuffy. Ceiling fan was flush mounted on a 10' ceiling with short chains causing me to stand on a chair to turn ceiling fan on. Covid had the fine dining area in the hotel shut down.. but we went to the Farnsworth house in downtown Gettyburg which was used as a sniper den by confederates during the battle and still shows bullet scars in it's front. Period food with period dressed wait staff in a period atmosphere. very nice. Grounds looked inviting but we arrived in late afternoon and didn't have time to explore as much as we would have liked.
