Ryokan Style, Complete facility, Good Location, Nice & Hospitality, Nice view from my room

The elderly couple who runs the place were friendly & welcoming. Besides it being a lovely and old traditional inn, it's interesting to see they keep nostalgic antic items such as old record players, cassette players (a rarity nowadays) - it was nice to have breakfast in the dining listening to classic songs. I enjoyed the public bath here after returning from the freezing cold outdoor - though the onsen here is superhot & high in acidity here compared with other onsens which I've been.

Bear in mind there's quite a flight of stairs to take from the lobby to the room - though I'm fine as my luggage is small.

Guesthouse owner is an old couple. They are very nice and helpful. Ryokan is very japanese style and it has onsen inside the guesthouse. Guesthouse owner has a lot of hi-fis and black cd in the dining area. The television was showing skiing videos taken in the old times and the hi-fi was playing some oldies. The whole atmosphere brought you back to the good old days in Japan. I saw some old skiing equipment and medals at the entrance of the ryokan, so I think the guesthouse owner maybe an expert in skiing and the Yokokura no Kabe maybe just a piece of cake for him.

Corridor is a bit cold because the heat insulation is not that good. Heating and onsen facility a bit old.

Host is nice and friendly. Japanese style breakfast is very nice. There is fridge and microwave outside my room.

The location is excellent, super close to the gondolas. The have parking and an onsen on site. Everything in the rooms and bathrooms were clean. The rooms are fairly large. Lighting in the rooms was great. Dry room works. Futons were comfortable. Would stay here again!

The common areas appeared a little old and run down.

The internet was super slow. I was unable to stream anything. Basically the internet was only capable of checking email.

hard to find a place to do laundry in the town and hotel.
