La playa, el lugar en sí es muy paradisiaco, las edificaciones son estéticamente bonitas.
Tienen todo para ser un buen hotel 5 estrellas pero ni de lejos se acercan. La organización del hotel es pésima, además están sobrepasados.
Las edificaciones parecen nuevas pero realmente por dentro se caen a cachos, en nuestra habitación solo funcionaba 1 de los 5 enchufes, se corta el agua, se va la luz, y casi tenemos una desgracia con el secador que acabó echando llamas. Comentamos todos estos problemas varias veces y nadie solucionó nada.
Como estos mil detalles, vas a la playa y no quedan tumbonas, vas a la habitación y te han quitado las toallas sin reponerlas…
Todo lo importante para ellos es sacarte el dinero por alguna parte. No lo recomendaría, en España sería equiparable a un hotel 3 estrellas.

Ocean is beautiful, really nice water color. Super easy for a family, restaurants, activities, easy access to food. Really enjoyed the mangrove and the peacocks that roam around the property. We liked the indian restaurant surprisingly. Lots of staff were nice and friendly. We enjoyed the smaller relaxing pool and the zen garden with hammocks
Lacking attention to details and good hospitality. Lacking good true dominican food and music..Rooms- sloppy construction, dirty bathtub. There was hair and dirt in the bathtub and we asked them to clean it twice and they neglected to fix it. Not ideal when you need to bathe your baby..There was mold in the toilet. also loud club style booming bass music we could hear from our room until midnight every night though that depends what area your room is in.
Food- lots of choices but overall subpar taste and thats being nice. Drinks- truly horrible. All cheap brands of liquor you never heard of. Made us not even want to drink. One kind of red and white wine- not good ones either. If you have one at least made it good, does not have to be expensive.
Really did not enjoy the “concierge” staff in pink collared shirts incessantly harassing us and others on the walking paths for a “free gift” and a pitch to platinum upgrade. Beware! Be mindful of the “platinum access” option which we did not even know existed. They very much segregate the crowd based on platinum or not and only the platinum access get certain liquor, pools, restaurants and services. Even better wifi for platinum..also, making people pay extra for the sauna at a resort?! That’s just petty. Pretty much sums it all up. Almost like the spirit airlines of resorts. Lastly, people on the beach also incessantly harassing and pitching sales for excursions, hair braiding, cigars, and art. No thanks, trying to relax on my vacation I will find you if i need you.

Der blev fundet hår i maden, og anden gang smagte pandekagerne ved morgenmaden af sæbe. Kokken troede ikke på os og ville selv smage, og kom beklagende tilbage og undskylde og gav os ret. Armbåndet der har indbygget chip som låser døren op til værelset virkede ikke, så vi tilbragte to timer sammenlagt på at gå op til receptionen og få den fikset for så at det ikke virkede da vi kom tilbage og måtte få security til at kigge forbi og skifte batterier i døren. Dårligste oplevelse vi har fået, vil absolut ikke anbefale stedet til nogen.

Hemos pasado unas vacaciones de Navidad de ensueño. El trato humano y profesional del hotel ha sido espectacular y tras un contratiempo que tuvimos, el gerente de relaciones públicas, Jairo, gestionó todo para que pasasemos unas vacaciones increíbles y compensar este contratiempo con un trato inmejorable y muy profesional. Tenemos que agradecerle a Jairo personalmente todo lo que hizo por nosotros y que nuestras vacaciones familiares en el Caribe hayan sido unas de las mejores de nuestra vida. El hotel es muy bonito y el mantenimiento es muy bueno, con habitaciones totalmente reformadas. El complejo cuenta con unas instalaciones de primera, como bares en los que pedir bebida mientras estas en la playa o piscina y restaurantes y buffets con comida deliciosa. El personal de todo el hotel es muy amable, alegre y servicial. También mencionar que el personal de animación se esfuerza para que haya actividades día y noche para que tanto pequeños como mayores disfrutemos y nos divirtamos. Recomendaría encarecidamente el Grand Bavaro Princess a todo el que quiera pasar unos días inolvidables en el Caribe.

Everything was just ok, not outstanding just ok
A lot of kitchen and waiting staff did not look happy to be doing their job. Cleaning staff for the rooms were great, ours was always singing and in a happy mood.

Sehr sauber! Freundliches Personal, vorallem die Animateure waren sehr herzlich. Obwohl ich alleine unterwegs war, fühlte ich mich immer sehr wohl.
Ich hätte mir mehr Dominikanisches Feeling gewünscht, vorallem was das Essen anbelangt.

I loved my location of the room. It was quiet and peaceful. I also had some of the workers who were extremely nice and became friends with my husband, and then maybe 2 to 4 who were like rude and felt like we were bothering them, which I didn’t like. The air conditioner in the room was really well and cold. The food was good. I wouldn’t complain about that. Maybe some people have a different opinion, but I liked it. My favorite place to go to was the pub that was open 24/7 it was a good time and they also had karaoke which was fun to watch. Overall wasn’t a bad place I would visit again. 
I didn’t like the check in lobby. It was extremely hot in there. I’ve never sweat is so much just being in one room. I think that room should be air-conditioned especially if you are there early and can’t check in yet and you have to wait. That route was so hot. The rooms did have a weird humidity. Mildew smell even though there wasn’t any mildew. It just had a very weird smell. And I think pretty much that’s it that I would complain about.

The food was amazing, really was. Breakfast lunch dinner, all round perfect with so much range. This was the only single good thing at this resort

Check in. The mosquitoes are EVERYWHERE. All over the ceiling of the bathroom too. The insecticide helps but it’s so so so bad. And they’re very noisy around your ears. Also, the staff cat call women SO BAD. I was with friends so that’s what made me somewhat comfortable but I will never visit here alone as a woman. Late at night walking to your room and the male staff are all making sexual comments to you as you walk bye. It’s terrible.Also, because my friend lost her key bracelet thing they started accusing us of being 3 in our room and a male staff just barged into our room snooping around. We felt really violated. All together I guess we got the got the worth for our money cause it wasn’t too expensive.

We upgraded to platinum and it was wonderful - close to the beach, quieter and less busy than main resort area with ability to use both platinum and standard services. Rooms beautiful clean and spacious.

Nice stuff, pretty surrounding, pretty good food, very nice beach
Musty smell in the room (probably because of high moisture).
We attended some kind of presentation, where they wanted to present us some benefits for our next holiday. It should take 1 hour, and when we told them after 1,5 hour (presentation was not finished yet) we need to go back to our kids, they were looking at us like at some enemies ☹️. It was pretty uncomfortable and pushy action. We got vouchers from them, but don’t recommend to attend it. At least we wouldn’t go there again.

1) food quality wasn’t great overall. the restaurants were okay - but the open ‘buffet’ style restaurants (e.g breakfast, dinner) were fairly low quality (e.g vegetables overcooked / meat undercooked / everyday same options, etc).
2) wifi connection is very unstable. Out of 5 nights only 1 night connection
3) no airport shuttle service
4) low water pressure and limited hot water in hotel roon

the beach and the nature were beautiful, all the rest was way bellow a 5 stars hotels should provide.
I can write more about all the things that were so wrong, the most important one being that the customer service is very very bad, they lie, don't want to serve you right as they don't care and are blaming all the problems on booking.com. Quote: "you booked through booking, ask them to fix your problem".
No hot water in the afternoon, most of the days, including the NYE. Room was not ready when we arrived, even if it was one day later than expected. No towels when we arrived, waited for 4 hours to get it, after asking twice
Very bad attitude of the staff, no smile, no ‘Hello’, no ‘thank you’, most times completely ignoring you or even being arrogant, especially guest services.
Very bad wi-fi, except a couple of places in the entire resort, which also meant not being to open the digital menu in the restaurants and implicitly choosing wine from the wine list ( less sales for the hotel, as the staff either doesn’t speak good enough English or doesn’t want to sell).
Mediocre food, at times left to much time under the heaters. Understaffed in the buffet area, only one person making omellets/pancakes for hundreds of people (occasionally they would run out of batter and you have to wait for 30 min to get a new batch).
Even if there are many restaurants on the site, you cannot reserve one the day when you arrive, as the check in starts at 3 pm and the reservations for restaurants stops at the same time. You get stuck with the buffet. Made a written complaint about the problem with the hot water on the 31st of Dec, had to chase a manager for 3 days, to be able to get an answer and when they came to talk to me it was the Spa manager, not the customer service manager and she refused to give me a written answer to my complaint, to say her full name or to give me an email address to follow through. Guest service representatives constantly LYING about sending someone to fix the water problem , waiting for hours with repeated phone calls: they said they've send a courtesy Spa voucher to our room and they called to our room ( there was no message on the answering machine).
Be aware of staff wanting to sell to you time shares pretending to give you a welcome breakfast, when breakfast is included anyway.

We liked the location and the actual property. There was always something to do which was great. We loved all the animals and it was a pleasure to walk around.
The food needs improvement. Generally, I think the staff were nice but I felt they weren’t really aiming to enhance the experience. The housekeeping was pretty minimal with just getting the bed made and new towels brought in. I don’t think they checked what needed refilling. I also think that they could have done a better job with beach service, even with cleaning up.

The management was bad, customer issues were swept under the rug. They didn’t care to make things better. They promised goodwill gestures and didn’t do them hoping you forget. Staff lie about you so they can not get into trouble for there wrong doing.
Guest services were VERY rude and unhelpful, especially Eduard, Freddy and Mary! Eduard is meant to be the manager but just rolls his eyes when you talk and cuts the conversation and leaves. Mary answers phone calls while your speaking to her and Freddy is very impolite and speaks to you like you’re an idiot! None of them should be working in guest services as they only care and show sympathy to you if your spanish speaking.
No one takes any responsibility for anything and acts like the customer is always in the wrong! My room wasn’t cleaned for an entire day but they lied and said I put the Do Not Disturb sign on the door which I didn’t!! What’s funny is that the worker who replaces the mini-bar still came in to refill the minibar… so how could he come in if it had do not disturb?? They clearly only care about money and their Spanish speaking guests. Quality, customer service and just normal morality is not their concern. Eduard promised to send us champagne and fruit platter to our room for the inconvenience but of course this was not done. When we spoke to Freddy about this he said ‘well your leaving tomorrow anyway’ this clearly shows that they do not care. We asked for simple compensation for the NUMEROUS issues they caused and they said to make a complaint and it will be resolved in an hour. Of course it wasn’t and we had to wait for an obscene amount of time for nothing to be done.
The day of our check-out we wanted compensation as we still had not received any sort of apology for the issues caused. We call and were speaking to Eduard Mid-conversation he ended the call and ran out of the hotel knowing we wouldn’t find him and that as check-out was approaching we’d be charged for staying past check out time.

The beach was decent, however with some sargassum in the water at times.
We had a very nice meal in a seafood restaurant (Pescador). A coffee place Frappuccino is very nice with great coffee and very pleasant stuff.
We were very disappointed that we chose this hotel as our final stop before coming back home and for my wife's birthday celebration.
When we came to check in, instead of leaving our bags and resting at dinner, we had to change the room THREE times. At first, we were given a room on the ground floor, the aircon was barely working there and there was a very unpleasant smell in the room - a mixture of pee and sewage. The second room we got in a different block was on the first floor, a bit better but still horrible. Only the third room we got was more or less decent (although with stained sheets and someone's hair on the bed and in the bathroom). The shower was working funny with water flowing to the wall rather than to your head.
Whatever you need from reception, you have to call them 3-4 times. I had to ask for a manager in order to get someone just to bring me some clean sheets.
The buffet food. It was truly horrible. Almost all types of meat we tried were impossible to chew, veggies were tasteless. Pizza and pasta tasted below average (and you have to try hard to make pizza and pasta tasteless). Huge queues, especially at lunchtime.
White wine they serve as a part of an all-inclusive package is simply impossible to drink, the taste is disgusting. The same applies to the majority of alcoholic beverages they serve.
The hotel is too huge. It doesn't give you a cozy feeling of resting like at home, it rather feels like a huge and faceless machine.
There is also a very funny smell on its territory, smells like a swamp.
We were very happy that we only booked two nights there.

Great beach with high quality sunbeds
Platinum upgrade is worth the money: service was much better, Restaurants far less crowded, staff was more competent and spoke better English. Most importantly the food in the platinum areas was fantastic and much better than in other areas.
Staff was super annoying for no reason many times. Delaying entry at the gate and asking strange questions at arrival, denying tables in restaurants that are obviously vacant, long wait times to get coffee during breakfast and in general, food orders being mixed up or lost, service like room service simply not showing up (which requires countless calls to reception, which end up with different persons everytime). Manytimes it felt like talking to a wall! Overall, there seemed to be too much staff with too narrow accountability and poor communication amongst each other. The level of English spoken was generally very poor.
Without a platinum upgrade you probably end up spending an hour every evening while waiting for a table in any of the a la carte-restaurants.
During weekends the hotel gets flooded with locals, which means crowded and extremely loud restaurants with super long wait times, overwhelmed staff, the relaxation pool full with crowds of children playing (while the childrens area is vacant) and poor service in general.
The main pool is a party area busy with drinking crowds during the day - go for the relaxation pool instead and avoid the weekend if you are looking for a quiet time in the pool.

The beach is very nice. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious.
The food is terrible! Lunch buffet is awful and the restaurants aren’t good either. The lady at the front desk told me we didn’t need reservations for the restaurants and then we had to wait for over an hour to be seated at the Italian restaurant. Most of the staff is very rude, they look very unhappy and the serve you in like that. For example the guy that makes the hamburgers at the food truck in the beach, throws the food in your plate like he was bothered by your order. same in the main buffet, the waiter looked angry because we ordered some milk for our coffee. A few ones were very kind, but most of them didn’t look very happy with their jobs.

The resort (1300 rooms) is just too big. You must take golf cart rides everywhere.
The specialty restaurants were first come. If you don't get there right at 6pm you may wait 1.5 hours for a table. I iwould stay at the buffet.
House wines and cava were bad. The rum was good.

Beach front, range of activities, animations team, lunch time buffet, room/ grounds aesthetics, room space, staff are friendly (make sure to tip), resort size, heavy handed bar staff.
It's all inclusive so understandable BUT be aware, the majority (can't speak for the Indian, Wasabi, Steakhouse & the seafood one) restaurants on site besides Tepenyaki were average at best, 24/7 pub was damn near criminal. Most food tasted microwaved/ reheated. The buffet was lit though, good options and fresh food.

bad treatment from staff most of them are not friendly and not welcoming and they give you the feeling that giving you service it’s something that they have to do it like someone made them work in the Resort and they dont want …
plus they are asking for tip on each corner on the smallest service the would ask you for tip and if you didn’t have money then they will treat you bad until you tip and by bad I mean they would ignore you and avoid eye contact and serve everyone but not you .
they’ve never changed our bed in all our 15 days stay
workers can be aggressive also because they don’t have some Manager to role them its like they have all the rights to treat you bad
we were said that we have a free lobster dinner for each week of stay we stayed two weeks we didn’t receive any…
we asked about the keep telling pass on us later through the day until I became shy to ask about it anymore…

you’ll never receive it unless you ask what they have and fight to get you’ll need to argue with the Batman then tip him until he will put for you from the alcohol you paid for
they would prefer giving you cheap one and selling you the good one with half price…
im so surprised from this hotel and so surprised that it’s rated as 5 star
for the staff and treatment you receive there I would say it’s not touristicand it’s not worth it and more than one star they don’t deserve.
