This is a beautifully maintained old hotel located very close to the markets. We particularly liked the fireplace in our room that was lit on demand when the evenings got too cool. We ate in the hotel restaurant and while the menu is limited the food and service were excellent.
The hot water in our bath was barely adequate for a shower.

L’emplacement, l’authenticité. Après un problèmes de petites souris dans la chambre, le personnel nous a sans aucun problème changer de chambre.
La literie est vraiment mauvaise.

The staff were great! The location excellent
Our toilet needed attention and wouldn’t flush. They came quickly but it reoccurred. We were offered another room but had settled in.

The breakfast was good. It's basically the typical one of Guatemala which includes eggs any style, refried black beans, fresh fruits and Guatemalan brewed coffee. Good!
What I didn't like was that I was assigned the wrong room; I'd paid for a two bed room since I was expecting a friend to arrive for a job interview with me. They moved me to another tiny room and the next day I went though another move. All that I didn't like.

Great location, very central, authentic building.
The bed & the bathroom are very authentic but slightly outdated, not as comfortable as we would have expected (eg toilet was not working properly).

Lovely antique furniture and great location. Lovely courtyard and garden.
Staff were not very helpful. The restaurant was shut early and we were not able to get dinner. the door was locked overnight meaning we struggled to get out when we had a medical emergency. There was nobody to help or support when we had the medical emergency - the night guard didn’t know where the medical centre was. We had booked a taxi to the airport through the hotel. Two firms showed up, the hotel could not clarify which we should take or who we should pay. We awaited for 20 mins while the hotel staff did pretty much nothing, we ended up having to sort the issue ourselves because the two taxi drivers were beginning to get angry. Very very disappointed in the service at this hotel.

This is a beautiful old place in many respects. The antique furnishings are lovely, and the charming grounds are full of flowering trees. The room was very large and clean, with a tiled floor and immense windows. The bed was comfortable and extra blankets were available for chilly nights. The shower was good. The restaurant, in a building across the street, served a nice breakfast. The hotel's location right next the the market is excellent.
The toilet was dysfunctional. The hotel was understaffed and the few employees spoke only Spanish. Despite recurring rain in the area, the hotel is not ready for it: the large windows were so old that water poured in during a rainstorm and flooded the room. Dinner options were limited and service was uneven.

Hotel decoration. Rooms were very nice and comfortable but the floor is too old so whatever movement you make, the whole place seems to move and make noises. Fireplace was a nice touch but sofas/armchairs were too old and not comfortable at all.
Breakfast could improve.

We loved the location and the room, especially the fireplace. It was super comfortable and attractive. The breakfast was amazing but dinner was less so, adequate but few selections. The intimate little bar was delightful. Staff was pleasant.

Great location close to Chichicastenango market. Beautifully decorated hotel. Lovely and spacious hotel room with working fireplace. Friendly and helpful staff.
No hot water for the shower. Fireplace not properly made. They started the fireplace for us which was great but then seemed to go out due to and ineffective set up inside the fireplace. Fire appeared to go out quickly and then reignited an hour later to our great surprise. No ceiling lamps in the main room. There were only two small lights beside each bed. I would have preferred to have more light. it was quite dark inside.

It is a real treat to stay in this hotel. The rooms are beautifully firnished with old authentic pieces, the garden as well.nice trees, domestic parrots, old benches;A fire light is made for you on your room on simple request;A real pleasure. You fill like going back in old times, there is really an atmosphere in this museum like hotel. The situation is just perfect,3 minutes to the market. We enjoyed much staying in this town a day before the big market, hardly any tourist,a small market worth seeing ,,only local people and a lot of quietness, much different from big market day
Dinner could have been a bit more elaborate,in accordance with the nice surroundings. We had better value in town

The Hotel is like a museum with old furnitures and hasienda look. We had fireplace lit in our room. If you want an extended Chichi stay, then is very good place to stay. Marked with fewer turist is a nice experience.
Breakfeast was nice, but dinner a bit plain - better options in town. Reception was friendly to arrange shuttle back to Antigua as it was not marked day, then transport price is a bit higher, but that is how it is outside the main turist pack. No heating in room, but fireplace compensated for that and was a fun experience.

Breakfast was ok, except for the hot chocolate, which looked and tasted as dirty water!

Very nice hotel. We had lunch, dinner and breakfast and all were delicious. Very attentive personnel. The room was very big and comfortable.

The interior garden is very nice. The room had hot water and a fireplace, the staff were very nice.
Although the hotel was not full, they gave us a room facing the main street which was noisy and smelly. Make sure you get an inner room.

The open fire place was LOVELY: we truly enjoyed to be able to warm us up in cold Chichicastenango. Overall the place is lovely with a beautiful patio (and even a couple of parrots), but - when we were there - pretty much empty.
It was a pity that dinner options were very limited and also that we were practically the only one around...

The attention was excelent and all the staff was incredibily nice. The room even had a fireplace that they set up.
I think that the quality of the food could have improved. Its not that it was bad but it was very simple

Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, charming hotel with historical taste.
Ordered orange juice for room service and took one hour to get it. Vegetarian dinner was very basic and expensive.

Staff and location were great. Beautiful Spanish colonial antiques throughout the property.
Chichicastenango is located at almost 7,000 feet altitude and this hotel has no heating system other than a small fireplace in your room which doesn't get the job done. It was so cold in our room that we had to sleep with our clothes on. The problem is that the Mayan Inn is pretty much the only game in town, so you're stuck if you want to visit Chichi.
