Room was big, bed comfy, breakfast.

No one at the reception could speak decent English. Neither at the bar. I'm not talking about "let us discuss Joyce's work" English, I'm talking about "can we have some fries" or "can you make an invoice with this company name on it". Nothing. Absolutely zero. They tried their best with some apps, and I appreciate the effort. But it's still unacceptable. The bar had has pay drinks the moment they put it on the table, as if we were going to run away for those 10$. The room stinks of cigarette smoke and is not sparkling clean. The air conditioning during the night sounded like being in a plane. They hacked the energy saving system by putting in a card which makes sure all lights are on, for hours, prior to one's arrival. The card is MADE FOR this purpose and proudly indicates so on it, so that it's obvious the hotel has absolutely no care in the world for climate change, contrary to what the chain says on their website. All of this would have been bad but acceptable for a "normal" hotel. For a self described luxury hotel all of those points are, each one alone, unacceptable.

Concierge! simply give directions/advise how to take metro when he does not know what line to take and get off. Irresponsible! If don’t know, just say don’t know or not sure, just say so but not simply advice. Luckily, observed his incompetence and took a while to relay the information and made a quick check with the map at the station. Big exhibition being held at World Exhibition Shenzhen but hotel personnel know nuts on this event and no shuttle service being offered being managed by hotel management. Would expect a top class hotel to not miss such details. Overall hotel is still a great hotel to stay
