They need to learn english in the lobby - check-in was very bad to speak english. The restaurants was good at english. The Clublevel was very dissapointed, normally Sofietel has better Clublevel.

I recently spent an enchanting stay at Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich, and overall, it was an unforgettable experience that combined luxury in an impressive manner. However, I must unfortunately mention an unfortunate episode at the pool area that affected my overall experience. Upon arrival, I was greeted by friendly staff, ensuring a smooth and quick check-in process. My room overlooking the city was spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with all modern conveniences. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the hotel's facilities were impressive, especially the large, well-maintained pool and attentive staff. Unfortunately, my experience at the pool was not as pleasant as expected. I observed some guests behaving inappropriately by spitting directly into the water, creating an uncomfortable and unprofessional atmosphere. I reported the incident to the staff, but it seemed like they did not take it seriously or take any action to address the issue. This unfortunate incident affected my enjoyment at the pool, and I no longer felt it was a comfortable place to spend time. I hope that the management will take this seriously and implement more proactive measures to ensure that all guests can enjoy the facilities without unpleasant incidents. Although this negative experience affected my overall rating, Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich still has the potential to be a fantastic place. Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich is somewhat disappointing. Though the hotel boasts the magnificent decor and majestic lobby, we found it lacking in some ways. I had booked two rooms for a six-night stay in GZ and had emailed the hotel for the rooms to be side by side or at least on the same floor. No replies from the hotel. Upon check in, I requested for it but of cos they couldn’t accede. Rooms had a cigarette smell when we first walked in. Though check in was at 2pm and the hotel didn’t have our 2nd room ready and only managed to take the keys close to 6pm. After two nights, I tried to ask for a room which is on the same floor again and this time they gave me. So I took the keys and went to the 3rd room and was overwhelmed by the cigarette smell and quickly went back to return the keys and stayed put in our current rooms. The only positives so far are the breakfast buffet and a few very helpful staff, which was they saving grace. Really doubt I’ll be back here if I’m ever back in GZ.
