About this house rental
Located in Truckee, this charming house for $545 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. During uncertain Pandemic times Relax and spend time in our spacious, luxurious but cozy mountain home away from crowds. It offers all amenities after a day on the slopes or after hiking, biking, boating, swimming, golfing - the choices for outdoor recreation extend through all seasons! And if Home office and Distance learning is the New Normal this is the perfect location - room for everybody, excellent internet connection and plenty of outdoor opportunities after work! The house features a beautiful gourmet kitchen with marble counter tops, double oven, microwave and a cooking island with gas fired stove. Our large living & dining room has a beautiful barn-style dining table to seat 10, a comfortable leather sofa seating area, oversize TV and surround sound as well as a wood burning fireplace. The panoramic windows face south and offer a view of Squaw Valley in the distance. The house has 3 bedrooms which sleep 8 comfortably: Master Bedroom with King Size bed and Master Bathroom Ensuite Bedroom with Trundle Bed and Single Bed - sleeps 3 Bedroom with Queen Size Bed and Single for small Child Games Room with Pull out couch (for hardy teenagers!) also with pinball machine, foosball table, juke box, Darts and many games; The games room has a pull out couch with a queen size mattress. We have an office with overflow space for guests who don't mind sleeping on an air mattress Each bedroom has an adjasoned bathroom with shower. One bathroom has a shower & bathtub, the master bathroom has a shower and separate jacuzzi tub. The house has a large sunny deck in the front with a seating area and porch swing and an even larger secluded deck in the back with hot tub, gas grill and a large entertainment area. Our latest addition is a a Fire pit area below the back deck for Campfire and S'mores evenings in the summer Downstairs behind the spacious double garage a Dry Sauna is set up for cold winter evenings. It seats 3-4 comfortably. There is plenty of parking in the driveway - it easily fits four cars. The house is located just outside the town of Truckee in the Tahoe Donner Association - a resort with about 6,000 homes in a large area. From Highway 80 Tahoe Donner is a short 3 mile drive away which makes it easy to access even if weather conditions are not favorable. Tahoe Donner Resort features Summer- and Winter activities. Pictures of most can be found in the foto selection provided. Here is a list of summer activities: 18 Hole Golf Course - open May to Mid October (10 min walk) 18 Tennis Courts (5 Min Drive) Recreational Pool @ Tennis Center (5 min Drive) Trout Creek Recreation Center with Large Pool, Lap Pool, Sauna, Hot tub & full Gym (5 Min walk) Equestrian Center (Also Bike Rental) - open May to September (5 min drive) Marina Beach @ Donner Lake - Sandy Beach with full restaurant. The property and owners were fantastic! We have stayed in many places on VRBO over the years but this home was definitely stocked with just about everything you needed…down to plentiful amounts of spices for cooking! The game room was excellent for the kids and even some adults that enjoy some good time fashioned pinball. Plenty of room and good location for all your Truckee and North Tahoe activities!

This house is very large and we have plainly space for our group of 8 ( 6 adults and 2 teenagers). We really liked the hot tub and the deck very well furnished.
The kitchen is also large and very well equipped.
The house could have been cleaner but it was confortable.

This cabin is great for families. Has a game room, sauna, hot tub, and it is in a great location. We have stayed here several times. We always enjoy it and create fun memories.

We stayed at the property during an active winter weather event. I really appreciated the owner's suggestion and flexibility to arrive early to beat the bad weather. Once there everything went really well - driveway was plowed on schedule as was the neighborhood allowing us to take advantage of breaks in the weather (which did happen) and enjoy the area.
Property was roomy with enough private spaces for us to enjoy vacationing with our adult children and their spouses.

3 families stayed at this beautiful house celebrating 3 birthdays. House was very clean with lots of room. Game room was lots of fun for the kids. Outside patios were very comfortable and relaxing. We’ll definitely be back.

Overall we had a great stay here. Upon arrival it was very clear that the owners spend just as much time here as their guests though, so it did feel a tad unprofessional (I.e. owners personal clothes took up both closets in the master bedroom - one closet had a lock and the other was lock free but personal clothes filled both, fridge was half full of food etc), so I didn’t have anywhere to hang my clothes. However, it was a double edged sword because them staying here also meant the place was fully stocked with everything you would need during your stay. The back outdoor area was great- lots of seating and the hot tub was already set to 100 degrees so you didn’t have to wait to jump in- super nice! Bedding and towels could use a refresh (they were pretty scratchy). Plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms and space to spread out and relax. Washer and dryer was a nice touch too. LOVED the bathtub in the master - much much larger than most tubs! A little more attention to detail could be prioritized/a few things need fixing- curtain rod fell on me immediately upon arrival when opening kitchen slider, one window in the living room was broken. Overall happy with the house, just a little extra maintenance/attention could benefit the overall stay satisfaction.

We go to Donner every summer and have always wanted to find a place where we can go back to. Until this trip there was always something different we were looking for. This place was PERFECT for our family. Super spacious and such an amazing olace to stay. My whole family said this might be the one we make memories at every year!

Comfortable luxury
We had a nice time at this property. Good food, hanging out with family, playing games and celebrating my daughters birthday. This was a very nice home. Very comfortable and all the amenities. Very family and pet friendly.

Our group had an amazing time at the cabin. The place is better/bigger than we even expected. Already planning a trip back sometime within the next year! Could not figure out how to use the speakers, but will try harder next time.

A great, comfortable, well stocked home in a beautiful neighborhood. We utilized the fire pit, jacuzzi and large table for dinners every night. Host responds quickly. We lucked out with snow twice! Highly recommended.

Perfect weekend in
This is the coziest rental home I’ve been in a long time. We just wanted a place to hang out in and the house had everything we might need. The homeowners left instructions for all the gadgets and appliances. The hot tub was amazing, and the kitchen had every utensil we needed. Would love to stay there again!

Beautiful home full of fun amenities
I truly enjoyed my stay in Truckee while staying in this home with my family including our dogs. The purpose of our trip was just to relax and enjoy time together which the house enabled us to do as we never wanted to leave. Not only were the owners super responsive which made me feel at ease prior to arriving but their house was full of activities for everyone (hot tub, game room, puzzles, comfy sofas that reclined for every person, outdoor space to enjoy breakfast and dinner outside, many places to nap!, a pet-friendly home) that allowed us to all have fun separately and together. Would highly-recommend staying here and would definitely plan on staying here again.

Spacious and cozy
We really enjoyed our stay at this house, there is a ton of space for bigger families, we had 3 couples and felt like we could all have our privacy and be together when we wanted.
Anja and Peter were fantastic hosts and responded immediately when we had a few things pop up, we greatly appreciate how respectful and quick to respond they were.
We would absolutely recommend staying here if you want quiet and beautiful sites!

Awesome house!
This was a great place! We loved the layout! The couches were amazing and comfy! Kids loved the bunk bed. And hot tub was a bonus! Backyard had snow and sledding fun. And front deck was sunny and warm for lunch and snacks. Owner was kind and responsive!

Family get-away
This place has it all! Anja was very responsive and friendly. It sleeps 6 adults comfortably, but there is definitely room for more. Everything was as described and the game room was a hit. Not too far from skiing. We are so grateful that this family opened their home to us and we will be booking here again! We also lucked out with snow during our visit so there was plenty of sledding and snow play on the property.

Great Getaway
If you are planning a trip to Truckee with your family & pets this is a great place to stay.
The cabin has something for everyone: Hot tub & suana, game room with a good variety of games for all ages, snow play right in the back yard off of the deck. Roku for streaming Netflix/Amazon. Nice kitchen that is fully stocked. Location is great.

Nice getaway for family & friends
This was a nice little getaway for my husband’s birthday. Our reservation was for three nights and we stayed on the property the whole time and took advantage of all the amenities. My kids loved the game room and playing outside in the snow. It took awhile for the hot tub to heat up but it felt amazing when it finally got hot. My husband really enjoyed the sauna. The kitchen had everything we needed and we enjoyed the eclectic decor of the house. Communication with Anja was prompt and she was kind enough to help us when we inadvertently left some items behind. We would love to stay here again.

Perfect 3-day snow trip getaway
After the quarantine process, our adult kids joined us for a nice break for skiing, hiking and lounging just before Christmas. Anja and Peter's place is warm and inviting and I'll be bringing family friends post-covid for some hiking and golf. The combo of 70's and 80's music memorabilia and travel souvenirs was a nice touch, as was their eclectic DVD library! All amenities were well maintained and our cooking experience was like being back at home.
