This 4 bedroom home was perfect for our 3 families with 3 small children under 5 to stay. We just loved having the golf carts to drive everywhere. It was super convenient. House was very clean, beds were very comfortable and has plenty of beach toys and towels for the kids. My only negative on this trip had nothing to do with the rental property. It has been many years since we stayed in San Destin. I have to say I was disappointed in the beach access. The resort has very little beach front and nearly all of it is taken up with chairs and umbrellas set up that you have to rent. If you are going specifically for that I would recommend going down the road a bit to the state park beach access where you will have more room. Yes it does mean you have to get in the car and drive...boo....but that was a better beach area. Golfing is awesome if that is your jam. My SIL caught a fish in the stream in the back yard. So fun. We would love to stay with Joan again some time.

We absolutely love our stay. The house was beautiful and plenty of room for our large group. The golf carts made travel to the beach and stores easy and fun. We had a great time and look forward to visiting again soon. By the way, the catch and release pond right out the back door was a huge hit for our 9 year old boys. They loved walking outside to fish and even caught a large blue gill.

I rented Villa Lago 1884 for my daughter’s bachelorette party. We had a group of eight and this home was perfect. The host was very accessible. The home was clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed taking the golf carts to get groceries and to go out to eat. I highly recommend this rental and would love to stay here again in the future.

Disappointed about dryer not working mid week owner was there to help but got message too late about her picking up a load to dry for us and we also found out Thursday afternoon part was not goin to arrive till after we leave 😞

Joan’s house was very clean and check in without issue. Joan was very responsive by text with any question or need. House was very close to the wharf with activities for kids and eateries. Grocery store was a short golf cart ride away. Beach took about 10 minutes by golf cart to get to and the house had plenty of beach toys for the kids. We enjoyed fishing in the stream behind the house. Great stay for our family of 8 adults and 3 kids (age 4,2,1). Thank you!

Joan’s 1884 Villa Lago was a great place to vacation! We were there 7 nights with plenty of room for 5 adults and 4 kiddos. We stayed in a villa down the street last year and my teenagers commented on how much more comfortable the mattresses on Joan’s bunk beds were than the bunks last year. The patio is a relaxing place for morning coffee or an evening bbq. The home was clean and it is ALWAYS a plus to have two golf carts! We were able to park our van in the overflow lot and never take it to the beach…which meant no sand in the minivan🙌🏻 Communication with Joan was swift and she is very accommodating! We will definitely stay here again! Thanks again, Joan!

We absolutely loved the stay! There was enough room for three families! The wharf area was a short walk away and the golf cart ride to the beach was the best! Joan was always willing to answer any questions I had and got back to me quickly! Overall we loved it and would stay here again if we travel back.

The house was also amazing. The rooms were large. There were three walk in closets. The garage was filled with fun beach toys, chairs and umbrellas. The golf carts were great.
From the moment we walked in the door both my daughter and daughter in law said is was the best place we ever stayed. We had 5 boys - 5 and under. They love the patio and watching the turtles in the pond.

Amazing Amazing Amazing
Wow ....My family of 10 spent 8 days in this home and can' begin to express in words how wonderful it was but I will give it a whirl. First off, it was absolutely immaculate and very well kept, we felt like someone just rented their personal home to us. You can definitely tell the owner takes a lot of personal pride on delivering a first class experience for her guests. I was initially worried about having 10 people under one roof, not an issue at all, the home is so spacious and designed so well it provided plenty of room when we came together as a family and also just the right amount of privacy when you needed it. By far the best equipped vacation rental we have ever rented, plenty of towels, pots & pans, kitchen utensils and the dozen beach towels was a great added touch. The golf carts were awesome and the beach chairs, boogie boards and numerous beach accessories was a big surprise. Love the location and what can I say the Sandestin Beach Resort just has it all. Great experience and I am already looking forward to our trip next year.

A VACATION TO REMEMBER!
This was our first time staying near Baytowne Wharf. We had a great family vacation! It was our first time flying to Destin and the golf carts were all we needed to get anywhere we wanted to go (especially the beach). The house is VERY nice with plenty of beds for all. We slept great! It has a great view out the back of the house. Thank you Joan and Serena for a vacation to remember!

The two golf carts included were a wonderful convenience to us, from going to the beach, to the pool, to all around the Sandestin Resort property each day. If you are traveling with a large party and need a great place to stay with excellent accommodations, don't hesitate to book this property! I would highly recommend staying here, and we definitely plan to return for another stay in the future!

A great week a San Destin
Our family of 8 persons finally got to return to San Destin after a year delay due to COVID. Joan Moore's Sail Away was the ideal spot to enjoy this relaxing spring break vacation. The home is beautiful and well equipped for an enjoyable week at the beach. The back porch has a great view over the golf course and was the ideal spot to enjoy some quiet time as well as outdoor grilling. With 2 golf carts, we had plenty of transportation to carry us around the resort property. Prior to our arrival, Joan provided us with many tips on local restaurants and places to visit. While we have been to San Destin many times, this was still very helpful and enabled us to find some new places. We highly recommend Sail Away as a vacation home while visiting San Destin Resort.

Sail Away is in Villa Lago which is a newer section of the Sandestin Resort. The security and beauty of the property is great. Sail Away is in walking to Baytown Wharf, or taking in the sunset from the roof top bar at the new Hotel Efie. If you like to golf this is a great property to stay at. We are big golfers so it was awesome for us and Sandestin has great golf packages.
The unit itself is huge and is great for couples and families. You basically have 2 Master Suites, a kids room that is already equipped with X box, and another bedroom downstairs with a King bed. The unit is very clean and has 2 balconies/patio's that you can view the golf course from, or fish from the lower patio. While there my husband is caught a large bass right from the back yard. You will love having 2 golf carts to get to the beach and back.
The owner Joann was absolutely fabulous to work with. Communication with her was easy and if you every had a problem she called back promptly, and made sure the problem was taken care of.

Calm and relaxing place to stay
We loved our stay at this property. Clean and deciration was simple, elegant and beautiful. The beach was beautiful, there was 2 golf carts that made the way to the beach fun for our kids, they loved it. If we needed milk or groceries we could go to publix using the golf cart. We didnt have to get out of the resort at all because everything we needed was there. We had a rainy day and we took our kids to an arcade that was 5 min away from this property using the golf cart. We had a great time and we definitely recommend it. Joan, property manager, was great alwayd answering our questions. Thanks! We loved our stay at villa lago!
