Clifton was named because of its hilly location on the Ohio River valley escarpment. Unlike other Louisville neighborhoods, Clifton was developed over a period of 60 years, with the first homes built in the 1860s sitting next to homes built in the 1910s, although nearly all homes were built in Victorian styles. Its residential areas are also much less dense than other nearby areas like Butchertown or the Original Highlands. The Louisville and Lexington toll pike, which is now called Frankfort Avenue, went through the heart of the area and was lined with small shops. The area began to revitalize in the 1990s, as numerous restaurants, boutiques, and antique shops opened up along Frankfort Avenue. Area attractions many restaurants, coffee shops, book stores & thrift shops! Getting Around: You will not need a car! A friend and I met here (we live in different states and Louisville is about halfway) with our teenage daughters and everyone had a great time! Clean, plenty of room for teens and Moms to hang out in our own space, and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen utensils need an update, but that is hard to manage in a rental property. Location was fantastic with plenty within walking distance and a short drive to everything else Louisville has to offer.

Charming Property
A wonderful and charming home. The owner has provided all you need to fix a meal, find things to do in the neighborhood, or tour the Bourbon trail. The house is well appointed and was well kept up.
I would certainly stay there again if in the area,

Very clean, close to up and coming neighborhood. Beds were comfortable. We made breakfast there every day. Stocked with what you need. Even hand soap and shampoo. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Only downside, you rent half the house, the main floor. Other renters were not a problem at all, just unaware of that fact.

Clinton area
We enjoyed our stay at this cute house. The house was very conveniently located within walking distance to many restaurants and shops. The house had everything we needed and we cooked many meals there. We did have some issues which the property owner responded to very promptly and took care of everything. Overall I would recommend this place. Parking was very convenient.

Property review
The property was located in walking distance of a lot of places to eat so that was great. Tom responded quickly to my questions and when the toilet handle broke he had the plumber come out right away.

We had a great time using this house as an extra location for a girls weekend. Thanks for accommodating us!

Great communication with host
We arrived to find the apartment smelled heavily of gas. Tom immediately responded to my message about our concern and had someone there checking it out within an hour. He also moved us to his other property (right above this one) because of the gas smell without any issues. He was quick to communicate and remedy the problem. After we settled in, we enjoyed our stay. The apartment is decorated nicely and has everything you need for your stay. It is an older home so it does creak a bit but not a big deal. It was clean but could definitely use a good deep cleaning. It is walking distance to some great restaurants in the area and quick drive to downtown area.

Great location
We had a great time in Louisville. The property was clean and safe. The driveway to the parking area was very tight, if I had brought my F350 dualie, it would not have fit.
We ate at the Manhattan Project twice, it is just a short walk away. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and the grilled cheese was the best you will ever have!

Perfect Location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved being so close to everything we wanted to see and do!

Convenient location
An updated older apartment, easy to get to and close to downtown. The rooms were small, floor sloped, and you could hear upstairs renters walking and talking throughout the night.

Great Location
Perfect location for everything in town!!!! Owner went above and beyond to make sure we were pleased with our stay.
One suggestion: darker curtains in the bedrooms- the sun comes in bright and early!

Nice Home in a Great Location
We had an awesome week visiting with family. The house is in a perfect location and had everything we needed. This is an upscale neighborhood with many restaurants and shops in walking distance . It is a very, very, very safe area. We used buses and Lyft to get around the downtown area without a problem. The owners were very accommodating and were available if we would have needed anything.
Thanks for a great stay!
