Overlooking the Harbour & onto the Harbour Bridge... Follow Historic tree lined streets of The Rocks Village ... with cafes, historic pubs and markets. 3. The new Barangaroo Harbourside Reserve is literally across the street ! Walks, Jogging, Picnics ... or take a 'dip' in the new Harbour Swimming Hole. * Your Host has Picnic Rugs, Chairs, Picnic Baskets & sports gear you may wish to borrow :-) * Towels for the Swimming Hole or to take on the Ferry to one of the nearby Beaches. 4. Picnics or pick a Sunset spot in the Reserve overlooking the Harbour with Ferries and boats passing by. * Ask your Host about a Picnic -' Wine & Cheese Basket' . 5. This little three bed unit is unique. The living space is snug to say the least for 5 adults, but I doubt if many people stay here to spend time indoors!
More should be made of the close proximity of the lift down to the harbour - once we found this it was a game changer (we stayed on the ‘muggiest’ day on record so walking up and down the hills was a pain. The lift goes to on of the Wilson parking garages on Hickson rd. again, making clear which one is best in the listing would really aid out of town travellers.
Plus points: Aircon efficient, hot water plentiful, beds comfortable. Location superb for CBD and waterfront.
Suggestions: Clearly mark this listing as unsuitable for those with mobility issues, the hilly terrain and external and internal steps are difficult to negotiate. The house bathroom has no lock so we had to devise a signalling system to indicate occupancy.
Weather conditions were challenging during our stay, but once we stumbled upon the lift we found walking on the waterfront to pick up the ferry or light rail to get around Sydney was a doddle.
We enjoyed our stay, but prior warning of all the steps might have influenced our booking.

Couldn’t ask for a better base for exploring Sydney. Cottage is smartly decorated and the location is ideal. My family of 5 was comfortable and enjoyed the opportunity to walk to sites of interest.

Our stay was an awesome experience from the location, the character of the property, the absolute friendly helpfulness of our host, to the comfortable beds and cleanliness of our bathrooms and rooms. Highly recommend an early morning stroll to the star gazer lawn at the top of Barangaroo, which was also an epic location to watch the sun go down over the harbour. The property is a beautiful combination of being close to the Rocks and Barangaroo, but in a quiet corner close to lovely parkland and quiet coves.

Perfect cottage for close and convenient access to central Sydney. Very short walking distance to the harbour bridge, circular quay, and the rocks district. Sam, our host, was amazing. She offered loads of good dining and tourist suggestions. 10 out of 10.

My friend and I stayed in a beautifully renovated 3-BR unit and it was terrific! It was the perfect location - in The Rocks - for seeing Sydney and accessing the ferries. The owner, Sam, was able to let us store our luggage prior to the check-in time and was otherwise available for help with sightseeing questions. I usually only stay in hotels, but this was a really nice experience.

We stayed for 4 nights and couldn’t fault anything about our stay. Sam was very helpful and friendly, the cottage has everything you could want, the whole place was clean and tidy, the beds were comfortable and the facilities perfect.

The location is so easy to explore from ... Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Government House, ferry terminal, bus stop, Barangaroo reserve, city shopping.
Sam and Maximus are friendly, helpful and fun hosts with top knowledge of the area. The villa is very well appointed and is tucked away in a very quiet and peaceful nook despite the plethora of sightseeing options just a short walk away. Great options within a 5-minute walk for dining and beverages.
There were 5 of us, ranging from 10 to 73 years young. The property was accessible for us all and although on the small side, the living room provided a cost gathering spot for our family.

Loved our stay. Very comfortable and great location. Sam was the perfect welcoming host and always available to answer any questions.
Only drawback was Wifi slightly dodgy. Not an issue, as we had data through other means, but could be if relying on it.

Location was excellent! Close to Ferrys, harbour bridge, opera house otherwise we took Ubers everywhere and Lord Nelson (Sydneys oldest pub across the street) was a great landmark.
Using codes for doors instead of keys was great. The place was spotless, beds all super comfy and great having 3 bedrooms. We didnt spend much time in the apartment cooking etc but it had everything u wold need. Sam was super responsive and had lots of tidbits and advice to share.

I agree with all of the other reviews that are full of superlatives. We had a really special 4-night stay. Sam was an exceptional host. The cottage was a tremendous value—3 bedrooms, outdoor space, a great kitchen all for the typical price of a good Sydney hotel room. We will be back!

Great location, close to the city, Circular Quay and the vibrant Rocks area. All the amenities you need, fully equipped kitchen and laundry and enough space for three or four people very comfortably. Loved staying here.

Character-laden two level home in great location. Host Sam was very helpful and responsive. Hope her nearby establishment opens up soon! Wonderful location. With heating and AC in all rooms. Three nice bedrooms, with kitchen and compact living room. Was a little chilly during our visit so we couldn’t use the small patio but a plus 9-10 months of the year for sure.

This property served our family of five well - everyone had their own bed and space. Clean, nicely equipped home. We took the train to the property and was relatively easy to walk to from circular quay (a bit uphill). Afterwards we found cheaper/easier to take Uber to airport. Enjoyed local restaurants/pubs for food and beverages. Amazingly our visit coincided with Vivid Sydney and this property had perfect location and in center of all.
